Shaded and peaceful

West Dolores was beautiful, peaceful and nearly perfect. The only caution I would give is that although the campground information on Recreation.gov correctly states that there are water spigots throughout the campground, the written rules we were given on arrival expressly forbid filling RV tanks…

Amazing view

Very long dirt road, well maintained. 35 minutes from downtown Telluride. Very primitive camping and huddled trailers hogging the view. Stargazing is awesome here.

Great views - car camping

Great spot right off the road! This spot had plenty of space to park our car (a small RV would fit too). Great views and some shade.

Best of all the dispersed camps sites in our opinion.

Rough drive

Arrived Sunday at 1 PM, two tents. The rest was empty. Cell service (Verizon) was 1-2 bars with LTE. 20 tv channels. Area was tight lost a weboost antenna up the hill. Close the the Park, plenty shade in spots, sunny in others. Over all, pretty good spot.

Worsts place we have stayed in a lot of traveling.

All the decent campgrounds were full. We needed a place to dump and fill water. WiFi is terrible and cell service is on extended network. It’s by the river but you can’t see for all the weeds.

Perfect location and great staff!

Great location! The happiest, kindest staff! Doug and Judy truly make you feel like a part of their little RV park family. They have fun activities, like trivia nights and dog parades! They even have prizes! Love all the trees, waterfall trout pond, volleyball, tetherball, cute convenience store…

  • Large pull through, site G. Lots of space, wonderful grassy area and personal picnic table. Plenty of room!

Not a KOA but still solid

This campground was a very present experience. The river was right behind our site and there was a small amount of privacy. Pool was superb. My only complaints are that the bathhouse I went to (old one) was pretty rough. Also I’m convinced the wifi isn’t actually connected to anything. There is 0…

One of the best camp grounds in CO

We spent a total of 8 days at this campground with 2 dogs and 3 kids. it was amazing falling asleep to the sound of the river at night and waking up to the call of singing birds. We enjoyed all the area had to offer. I recommend bringing decent bug repellent as the mosquitos can get heavy at dawn…

Less than stellar.

The campground was crowded with very little privacy.

Quiet, secluded, shady

Sites are spaced out nicely from one another and have picnic tables and fire rings. Pit toilets clean. We enjoyed camping and looking at the awesome stars. The short Chasm View trail has amazing views without a crowd. No Verizon cell service. Would stay here again.

Great views!

Easy access to 4-5 dispersed sites close to the Hermosa Cr TH. The site farthest back has a log that you can use to cross the creek if it is high. We stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend and were the only campers, a handful of people used it as day use parking for fishing and biking. All…

It was ok

Staff at the little gift shop place were nice and informative. Camping was decent. The lake is SUPER low (one of the many that holds water for the farmers/ranchers but never fills up much from the lack of snow pack, and loses a lot of water). Disappointing as far as depth for boating. LONG walk…

Beautiful camping outside Purgatory

We camped lower than the pin, at the campsites by the Hermosa Creek TH. There are 4-5 campsites here and no creek crossings involved. We were here early June for 3 nights and the creeks were high, questionable to cross with 2wd but fine for 4wd. The first creek crossing on Hermosa Park Rd isn't…
