Dispersed camping in Pike National Forest keeps things simple at Truman's Rock, a drive-in or walk-in site near Lake George with no formal infrastructure beyond what campers have added themselves. The fire pit is a notable exception. A previous visitor constructed a replacement pit that a later camper confirmed still standing in 2025, which gives the site at least one functional gathering point. Cell service is available, pets are welcome, and the area supports OHV and ATV use. Fees apply, though pricing varies. Happy Meadows is a nearby alternative if you want a more developed setup.
