Reservations are available year-round at Echo Basin Cabin and RV Resort, a privately operated property set in the hills outside Mancos, Colorado, with sites that accommodate rigs up to 50 feet and full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. The access road runs back from the highway, putting some distance between campers and highway noise. Early spring visitors note the bathhouse may not yet be open for the season, so self-contained rigs have an advantage in April.
Sites here are notably spacious. Staff members guide arriving RVers to their spots and help with the back-in, a detail that regulars mention as genuinely useful with longer rigs. The grounds back up to open fields and tall pines, with sightlines toward the surrounding mountains. One reviewer who stayed two weeks noted the sites are not crowded together, and the grounds are kept clean and well-maintained. There is a pool on-site, though it closes before the end of the season. The on-site bar and grill stays open longer and draws consistent praise, with multiple campers noting the food quality exceeded their expectations.
Dogs are welcome and have access to a large open field for off-leash play, separate from the main campground area. Mancos State Park sits about 1.5 miles west for day-use options, and Forest Road 44 provides dispersed camping access to the northeast. As Melody C. notes, "Mesa Verde NP with the cliff dwellings are a short drive away, perfect day trip." Durango is also reachable for resupply or a full day out.
One reviewer reported a noise issue during a large group event at an adjacent site, with music audible across the property for an extended period. The resort does host gatherings and reunions, so campers sensitive to crowd activity may want to ask about scheduled events when booking. Cell coverage receives a couple of mentions as limited. The resort provides WiFi, a dump station, laundry, and propane on-site. Echo Basin works well for RV travelers who want full hookups, room to spread out, and proximity to southwest Colorado's main attractions.
