Best Dog Friendly Place Around

We came on July 4th, and although many activities were going on, this place was quite like a mouse by Sunday. This place has everything: a massive field for dogs to play off-leash (they must be on in the park), a great restaurant, laundry, propane, a swimming pool, and a massive amount of outdoor activities.

Oh, and supper friendly staff.

Welcoming Place

We stay at EB every year. It is our favorite campground. There are lots of things to do and the sites are good sized with plenty of shade. The restraunt/bar has a great atmosphere!

Louder than Disneyland

Went there for the great reviews and outstanding local nature attractions. Sadly, this RV resort was in the middle of some sort of family reunion across from our site: At least 40 or more folks hooting and hollering and playing loud music that could be heard across the valley, going on for hours without any type of drop-in from the resort management. Despite a previous reservation, I was stuck in a site with no shade from the sun or the reunion’s party. It didn’t help that the site’s pump water was mostly dirt and plugged my filter…

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, George. Your statements are unfortunate and far from accurate. We are busy this weekend with a lot of people enjoying their Father's Day get away. Our quiet time is 10 pm and is strictly enforced. We made our rounds just after 10 and appreciated the silence and consideration of all the guests staying here. Maybe the 100' tall pine trees next to the site you stayed in muffled the sound but it was extremely quiet. We have been doing this long enough to know there is always someone wanting to tear you down and If you think this review is the best way to communicate your concerns rather than contact the management you are definitely wrong. You can certainly give us a call if you would like to address any of your concerns.

To all those that read this review and want an honest assessment please read the other reviews before you draw any conclusions or feel free to give us a call directly.

A beautiful, full service, RVPark!

I stayed here for three days last summer. I had just picked up my newly built out camper van in Durango and was doing a four day “shake down trip” to check out all the systems before driving back to Maryland.

Everything at Echo Basin was top notch, the staff, the camp site, the bathrooms and showers and the location. The campground is so well done and maintained. My only regret is that the restaurant was not open the days I was there.

It is not in the city but Durango is a short drive away.

SiteI did not record the site #.

Great Views, Great Amenities, Great Service, Great Trip

We stayed at Echo Basin for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular. The grounds are clean and well kept. The pool was closed for the season so we didn't get to use it, but we did visit the on-site bar/grill. We were expecting mediocre bland food, but the food was REALLY good. The people making the food really know what they're doing. The staff was very friendly. The sites aren't crowded together. We stayed in one of the spots that has 50 amps and full hookups. Everything worked as expected. We'll definitely return to this park the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend.

GORGEOUS Campground!

Loved loved loved our stay here! Tucked away from the highway and far enough from any big city, you want nature and stars at night? This is the place! We backed up to a huge green field. The gentleman that helped us back our 42 foot rig into our site gave PERFECT directions, telling my husband which was to turn our wheel which make this a first try back in. The owner was the kindest man we enjoyed getting to know. No dog park, but a large open field we're allowed to utilize, letting the pups off leash. They LOVED it! Mesa Verde NP with the cliff dwellings are a short drive away, perfect day trip. We should have stayed here a whole week!

Serene and Beautiful Family Owned and Operated Campground

One of our favorite campgrounds we’ve been to!

This is a serene, beautiful, and fantastically family owned and operated campground set in the foothills of the Rockies. Great walks around the property and on nearby forest service roads make for a great outdoor experience. The large turf areas at the front of the campground are fantastic for children or groups. Mancos and Durango beyond have everything you could want in terms of small town restaurants and stores and larger town supplies. We can’t wait to return!!

What a wonderful place to stay! Tucked back off the main road up in the hills! The Staff is GREAT! Lisa at the front desk makes you feel right at home and very welcomed to be here. Overall setup was nice!

It had been a while since I put up a tent, but EB had a few level areas specific to tenting, although the provided bath house was not centrally located. There were 2 toilet stalls and 2 shower stalls - relative to the majority of campers and cabin-users. There is a pool! EB provides a great eating area and bar to replenish your “spirits”. A great place to camp for reunions or gatherings. Removed from town, but close enough to spend the day exploring the region. Plenty of trees to hang a hammock, too!

Sitetent space, surrounded by cabins, next to small ravine.

Great RV, cabins and campsites

We stopped here on the way to the Grand Canyon and were very pleased. Of note, Waze and google maps do not go to the correct location based on address. They both take you to a private residence. Apple Maps did get us there correctly. The resort is well maintained with plenty of things to do. There’s also a full bar and grill open until 10 that worked out well for us as we were tired from driving all day. I highly recommend.

An oasis in a desert of closed camping

We had laid out several options for our stop in the Durango,CO area but in early April all were closed. We saw there sign—it said OPEN. It was a beautiful campground nice sites. The bathhouse wasn’t open yet but we are self contained so it was fine. The views were great and staff very nice. Looks like they multi use the space as the “lodge” is set up as an event venue which would be wonderful.
