The spots were excellent. Calm and clean. The bathroom was a disaster. That’s about all I have to say about that.

this campground listing is a duplicate of Lathrop lake state park. That one will take you to the correct website. This entry is incorrect.
We really enjoyed our time here. There are 12 sites, some have a larger footprint than others. Smaller sized ones are: 3, 4, 5, and 6. They are all a fine size though. Has a fire pit with grill, picnic table, and sites 2, 5, and 9 have the log covering. The sites are pretty close together, but we…

We stop for 3 days and it was a good experience. No issues here. Spot was fairly clean no problem with neighbors or anyone else. Enjoy spot 20 very much. A quite little corner. If in area again I will use.
I’m sure there is beautiful camping in the area because it’s gorgeous out here, but after having to camp high up on an extremely rocky trail, I learned 2 lessons:
- Don’t enter at night
- Don’t trust directions via Dyrt + Google Maps
This is a great campground with top notch amenities. We enjoyed the laid back time we spent here looking at Fishers Peak. Nice to be that close to the lake. One thing to keep in mind, from the campsites there isn’t great access to the lake, you’ll need to come in From the East entrance to the park…
Nice and mostly empty.
Started to get kind of crowded towards the end of the week but it’s a beautiful spot with stellar views and access to the dunes.
We stayed at a campsite here on 5/14/2021. We felt that we weren’t too close too neighbors and could stay up as late as we wanted without worrying we were keeping people awake nearby. Our campsite had trash, bb bullets, and tons of broken glass everywhere from some idiots who didn’t clean up…
We stayed at Alvarado for one night on 5/15/2021. We had sites 34 and 35 right across the road from each other. Steve the host was really friendly and stopped by to say hello a couple of times. There are several hiking trails nearby. The vault toilets were right by us and we didn’t have any issues…
We enjoyed the camping trip, and the kids love it. My wife bought the burrito in the restaurant, and the great chili is fantastic; you must try it if you like great New Mexico food. Only be careful in dune we got bites on legs, which was very bad after a few days later. I never know about it until…

Easy access and not too far out of Pueblo or Cañon City. We didn't venture much further than the gate at the latrine, but we saw people coming out so I can assume there are spots further in. It's dispersed camping, so not fancy but a great place to park our teardrop for the night.
The location of this campground is very beautiful, however, the campground needs some help. Essentially, it appears to be a mobile home park being run as a campground. For goodness sake, do not camp in space six. You will make everyone around you upset and there’s no room for a camper let alone…
Obviously being in the park is fantastic and gorgeous. The campsites are close together, we could hear other sites chatting til 2AM. Our site was specifically great because of trees (no wind). Bathrooms are clean but no hand soap. The store has weird hours, doesn’t open til 2PM. If you want to rent…
