Basic Campground

A basic family style campground directly on the Yampa River within city limits of Steamboat Springs. Tent sites, RV sites, tent cabins and full fledged cabins. We had a tent site right on the river. Miniature golf. Various bikes to rent. This was the priciest camp site on our cross country trip.…

Great stay on the River.

We showed up around 4pm on a Saturday and there were about 4 spots available. We stayed at site #8 and really enjoyed our view. It had a bear box, fire pit, picnic table, a bench close by and a beautiful view of the river. Restrooms were very clean and did not smell bad. They have firewood for sale…

Backcountry site

Permit required for camping here in RMNP(You can get one in Grand Lake or Estes Park at the Park Visitors Center). Perfect for hikers and climbers as the site is located at 10,000 ft. Pack in and pack out. Water is available from Glacier Creek (you will need to treat it before drinking). It takes…

Feel remote while close to town

Not far outside of Estes Park, but far enough up the side of a mountain to enjoy the wilderness. Sites spaced nicely apart, very well maintained, great fire pits with an attached grill grate. Moose and black bear apparently frequent but haven't caused any problems. This is our 3rd stay here, and…

Great spot for access to ROMO

Decent sized campsites. Cleanest pit toilets we had come across. Camp host/manager frequently circulating to make sure bathrooms were clean. Only improvement would be another water access point on Loop.

Super campground

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 23ft motorhome. It is a easy accessible spacious campground that is well maintained. The host is very friendly and helpful.

Great first come first serve spots

Great campground near Allenspark, with a number of first come first serve spots available Friday morning (mid July). Only mark against Olive Ridge is the lack of drinking water.

Great spot

Camping alone is always nerve wracking, but having people nearby was a nice saftey feeling, but they weren't too close. I stayed in #6 and had trees blocking my neighbors. Bear locker and campsite was clean except for cigarette butts that were not picked up by previous campers. Regardless was a…

Average dispersed camping, at best

There are several camping spots immediately after you turn off of the main highway that are down by the river.  The area had many people already camping there, so we drove about 2 miles up the rough gravel road. We decided to take the first spot we saw, since we were only going to be there for…

Private but Burned

Very pretty camping & a lot of it along the road. There’s a lake & a cute lil creek that runs off from it, that makes wonderful sound atmosphere but does mean bugs. The road is very easy going, made it out in my Prius with no problems. The area is extremely fire damaged in places &…

Some nice spots

We where able to grap a spot on a overlook, with a great view. If working had excellent Verizon cell service. The site was unleveled but not too bad for a van with rocks and firewood under wheels. Cool nights.

Gorgeous views

Beautiful setting on the mountains. No hookups but that is to be expected in a National park. Deer roam throughout the campground. Animals can be spotted nearby in the valley.

All about location

We stayed here one night. Spots were ok. Pool and hot tub were closed in July. They didn’t say why. Lots of rules including 7/12 mph speed limit.
