Sitting atop BLM land in the Tres Rios Field Office area of southwestern Colorado, Cannonball Mesa is a dispersed camping area accessed via a gate through private land, followed by roughly a mile of dirt road. The road gets rough in spots but is manageable at low speed. Campers park among rock formations on open terrain. Crowd levels run low, with at least one visitor reporting having the site entirely to themselves. Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome, and the site is ADA accessible.
