Great View

Right on the edge, there are 3 tenting sites within 50 ft of the side of the cliff, 8,9, and 10. Definitely the best spots. Otherwise there are several spots scattered around the area just not with a great view. Each site has picnic table and a fire pit with bathrooms in walking distance.

South Fork Fun

This campground is pretty nice. There are vault toilets and dumpsters throughout the camp. The loops are nice for walking the dogs, and there is access to the river on loop b. We were in site 1, which was super nice and shaded. It looked like that was the only campsite on Loop A with significant…

Memorial Weekend 2021

I contacted the campground and was told if I got there by 1pm on Thursday I could probably get a site for the weekend.  So we got there at 1 and had a huge choice of spots.  We stayed in spot 72 which was great!  There was sun in the morning but all afternoon and evening there was shade.  There…

  • the 2 tents are not are camp, we were set up behind this photo
  • perfect hammock spot
  • We put our tent in front of the bush on the left and we barely heard or saw the people camping in the spot in the distance

Be prepared and rewarded with a great spot

First and foremost I’d recommend only cars and suvs with 4wd to make the trek down to this spot. The road here is not made for bigger camping rigs or anyone that’s lacking experience driving off-road.

With that said if you make out here you’ll find a smaller CG w/ toilets that area clean, water…

Beautiful forest camping

We found a spot next to a stream on forest road 838. Very few campers in the area, all quiet and respectful. Road was rough, no problem for our Subaru Forester. Lots of hiking available in the area.

Large Campground-weird design

Large updated CG. Three loops, Loop A and Loop C are all fully reservation only. loop B is all FF only. Multiple hosts onsite. Most sites seem a bit small and short to my eyes, more for drive in cars, vans and smaller RVs. The design feature that I could strange is every site has a built up 6"…

New improved BLM CG

Looks like the BLM has recently updated and improved this location. Several vault toilets, campsites have tables, fire rings, tent pads and most important.. overhead awnings for shade as main camp sites are in open area with no shade trees. Note there are no trash cans or dumpsters and there is no…
