Utah is primarily known for two things: its world-class skiing and winding slot canyons. But the Beehive State has much more to offer the outdoor enthusiast. It's home to five national parks and eight national monuments. And that's just the beginning. There is no shortage of exotic camping in Utah.


For desert dwellers, Monument Valley never disappoints. It’s the kind of place that leaves a person searching for meaning. When the sun dips below the monuments and the sky radiates with color, it’s easy to see why the Navajo people revere the land. Media buffs will also recognize the familiar landmarks from film and TV. Those visiting Bears Ears can see Monument Valley in the distance from campsites like Muley Point.


Campers who visit Goblin Valley get a unique experience. An amphitheater of bizarrely-shaped hoodoos greets visitors. Even though there are hoodoos all over Utah, none compare to the “goblins” in this state park. They make an excellent backdrop for photos, adventure, games, and soul-searching.


A worthy Utah destination is Zion National Park, growing more popular by the year. The etched canyon walls make a lasting impression, as they jut thousands of feet up from the earth. The sense of perspective visitors experience keeps them coming back. The Watchman campground is a popular choice for campers. It offers accessibility to trails, the Virgin River, a shuttle bus, and the adjacent town. 


Many will also make a trip to nearby Bryce Canyon National Park, to see the infamous spires. Staying at the North campground is a great way to see the best parts of the park.


It doesn’t take a road trip to go camping in Utah. The state capital, Salt Lake City, butts up against the Wasatch Mountains. Fifteen minutes up one of the canyons is all it takes to trade city noise for alpine meadows and lakes. In the summer, Albion Basin blooms with color. Red Pine Lake is a secluded campsite with two lakes and frequent wildlife sightings.


For a different kind of mountain experience, the Uinta Mountains aren’t much farther. They’re the only mountain range in the contiguous US that runs east-west. Still part of the Rockies, they’re Utah’s highest range, with King’s Peak topping out at 13,528 feet. Most of the camping is dispersed, but Mirror Lake is a great campground right off the main scenic highway.

## Overview

White Bridge Campground is located just 12 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah and 55 miles northeast of Cedar City. Visitors enjoy fishing, canoeing on nearby Panguitch Lake and exploring local trails.

## Recreation

Campers enjoy fishing for rainbow trout in Panguitch Creek. Hiking and biking are popular activities around the campground. The Panguitch Lake ATV Trail System offers 100+ miles of trails and can be accessed nearby.

## Facilities

White Bridge offers several family campsites. The sites along the creek have natural shade, while the sites across the loop road are more open and equipped with picnic shelters for shade. Flush and vault toilets are provided, as is drinking water and a dump station.

OHV/ATV's including street legal are allowed in the campground for ingress and egress only (to and from your campsite to the road). Joy riding in the campground is not allowed. 

## Natural Features

The campground is situated high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 7,900 feet. Panguitch Creek runs alongside the campground. Cottonwoods line the creek and aspens, pinion and juniper dot the sagebrush-covered landscape. 

## Nearby Attractions

White Bridge is just 6 miles from Panguitch Lake. Some of the state's largest rainbow trout are fished from the lake each year, and aptly so; "Panguitch" comes from the Paiute word meaning "big fish."   
  
Anglers will also find brook, cutthroat and brown trout. Canoeing is a popular activity on this small body of water. Boat ramps are located on the south shore and at Wildlife Point.  
  
Cedar Breaks National Monument, with hiking trails and guided tours, is 16 miles from White Bridge.  
  
Just outside Cedar Breaks is the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area, where hikers will find 10 miles of trails and the Twisted Forest, a stand of ancient bristlecone pine.  
  
Bryce Canyon National Park is just over an hour away, with breathtaking scenery and excellent hiking opportunities.

## Overview

Panguitch Lake Campground is located 14 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah. Some of the state's largest rainbow trout are fished from the lake each year, and aptly so; "Panguitch" comes from the Paiute word meaning "big fish." Visitors also enjoy canoeing and exploring the Panguitch Lake OHV Trail System.

## Recreation

Panguitch Lake offers great fishing for rainbow, brook, cutthroat and brown trout. Canoeing and kyacking are a popular activity. Two public boat ramps are located on the lake, one on the south shore and the other on the north shore at Wildlife Point. The Markagunt OHV trail system at Panguitch Lake offers 300 miles of routes and trails. Other activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding and hunting.

## Facilities

The campground is located on both the north side and the south side of the highway. The Panguitch lake north is the larger of the two, with single and double campsites and three group sites. The south side is strictly for tent camping (no reservations).   
  
Amenities include flush toilets and drinking water. There are no hook-ups available so please fill your tanks at the dumpstation just east of the campground prior to setting up. A horshoe pit and a volleyball court are on-site, though campers must provide their own net and ball. An amphitheater near the Panguitch group site is available upon request. The campground road and parking spurs are paved.   
  
Accessible sites area available on the north side of the campground.   
  
No OHV access in or out of the campground including street legal, all OHV's must be trailered.

## Natural Features

The lake is situated high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 8,400 feet. A forest of ponderosa pines covers the campground, which lies on a hillside about a quarter-mile above the lake. Deer and elk are often seen in the area. 

## Nearby Attractions

Panguitch Lake has two public boat landings and is less than 5 minutes from the campground. Great fishing from both a boat and the shore or just hanging out on the beach is enjoyed by many! Panguitch Lake Campground is just 14 miles from Cedar Breaks National Monument, with hiking trails, guided tours, wildflower walks, star gazing and awesome views of the Cedar Breaks Amphitheater. Just outside Cedar Breaks is the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area, where hikers will find 10 miles of trails and the Twisted Forest, a stand of ancient bristlecone pine. Bryce Canyon National Park is 30 minutes away, with breathtaking scenery and excellent hiking and horse ridng opportunities.

Iron Springs RV Park consists of 39 modern large RV sites with a variety of sizes. Whether you only need a small sight for a pop-up trailer or a large one for your RV we have what you need. Our sites range from 60 to 112 feet in length and are all pull through. Each site has full hookups: Wi-Fi, water, sewer, and 30 & 50 amp power.

We have two types of “cabin” options at Iron Springs. The first option includes a full kitchen, two beds (one queen and one full), and one bathroom. The second option is a studio style room. It has one queen bed and a private bathroom.

The Point Supreme Campground in Cedar Breaks National Monument offers a camping experience at 10,000 feet in elevation. Available approximately from mid-June to late-September. Visitors can enjoy a variety of hiking trails, ranger programs and breathtaking scenery. Recreation Visitors will always find something to do at Cedar Breaks: including daily ranger programs, guided hikes, wildflower identification, wildlife viewing, photography, star gazing, junior ranger activities, and more! Facilities Restrooms with warm water and flush toilets are available. Showers accessed using a door code (ask campground host for code) are also available for campers. Firewood is available onsite by donation. Two of our camping spots are wheelchair accessible. Three of the parks four hiking trails are within walking distance. Natural Features Cedar Breaks National Monument offers a spectacular view of deserts, forests, meadows and rocky spires. Come stand above 10,000 feet on while looking into a desert amphitheater filled with incredible, multi-colored hoodoos. Nearby Attractions The Point Supreme Campground is conveniently located near Brian Head Ski Resort, Navajo Lake, Mammoth Cave, Duck Creek Village, the Parowan Gap, Panguitch Lake, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park. The Utah Shakespeare Festival is held annually during the summer and fall month in nearby Cedar City. Point Supreme Campground

When you visit Iron Springs these days, it’s hard to believe that it’s been in operation since the 1940’s. What was once a small 8 cabin, one lodge vacation property on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, grew into something special under the dedicated ownership of Olive Little. As the resort became more popular and families brought their kids and grandkids, Olive kept expanding, carefully considering the placement and orientation of each cabin to take the utmost advantage of views while providing a sense of seclusion. At the time of Olive’s passing almost 60 years later, the resort had grown in number of cabins and endless memories of friends and families, getaways and reunions, bonfires and clam digs were made. For several years the resort was in decline until purchased in early 2010 by new owners. An extensive restoration the following summer brought the property and cabins back to their original charm while adding some thoughtful updates. Whether it’s your first visit or your fourteenth family reunion (including the dogs), we hope you feel welcomed here at Iron Springs.
