Quiet stay

We stayed here a few weeks ago and were very happy with our stay. The May flies were thick and covered everyone's camper. The staff was very friendly. The only complaint was that the turn we had to make from the main road in to the isle where our campsite was, was almost too tight. Other than, we…

Good but not national park status

Would have been nice to have water within walking distance of the campsite. Get sight 1 of Longleaf campground, otherwise it's a long way to drag your stuff unless you are set up for back packing. Hiking was decent but not spectacular. If you Kayak put in at South Cedar Creek and it will be worth…

The weather was the only thing unbearable. That and the bugs, but it’s expected.

Perfect family vacation

Short-stay is a beautiful camp right on Lake Moultrie a short distance from Charleston, SC. They have descent wifi and an pretty well stocked camp store, but the main attraction is huge Lake Moultrie. Great for fishing, swimming, camping, RV, and much more. There is a swimming beach and the camp…

Beautiful lakeside camping.

This is a picturesque campground just across Lake Marion from Santee SC with water views and beautiful sunsets. The staff is friendly, the wifi adequate, and 24 channels of OTH HD TV for those times when the weather does not cooperate. There is a pizza oven on site and you can get it delivered by…

Horrible roads, sites in need of repairs

Getting to the campground was a challenge with roads that are in desperate need of repair. They are starting to work on adding gravel to the sites but have a long way to go. It’s a quiet campground but zero amenities. You have to drive to the camp office and they’re only open a few hours a day.…

Longleaf campground at congaree national park, July 2021

This is a decent no frills campground. Park in the lot and the sites are a quick walk. Vault toilets were clean, no lights at night. We made reservations UTI there was really no need, maybe one other person in the small campground and no check in or anyone to validate our reservation. Hiking is…

Quiet stay

Stayed here for four nights! The first night was on a Saturday and it was really crowded. Sunday when everyone left we got to enjoy some stillness and quietness. We were at cypress view side, right near the water and trails. Good bike trails, but was a little disappointed at the area they say is…

Well maintained; not crowded

II really like this park. It is very well maintained, showers are immaculate and the trails are very well marked. Since this park doesn't have a huge boating lake or the ocean I don't think it is as popular as other parks. I visited the park in mid June and it was less than 25% occupied. I chose…

Charming Cabin

The one bedroom cabins were secluded, rustic and completely charming. There is some hiking and a nice playground in this state park.

Beautiful, but....

Definitely bring a wagon for packing your stuff in and prepare to be eaten alive by deer flies everywhere you go! The heat in June is also pretty bad, so having to go back and forth out to your vehicle to bring your stuff in and out is very difficult even though the path is flat and very short. …

Near Nature

Good amount of space between all spaces. Sites 1-3 are the easiest to get to. We were at site 7, it took about 250 steps from the parking lot to our site. All sites have lots of shade. The campground is next to a pond that gets rather loud at night. I never knew frogs/toads could be so loud. Easy…

Cypress View Campground

This is one of the two campgrounds at Santee State Park, and it is as different from the other as night and day. Unlike the dirt roads at Lakeshore Campground(the other campground in the park) the roads in Cypress View are paved. The sites are gravel, and many of them are pull-through sites.…
