Remleys Point Public Boat Launch

This county-managed boat launch provides free overnight parking for self-contained RVs and campers in Mount Pleasant. The paved parking area sits directly beside the Wando River, allowing visitors to park within feet of the water's edge. Big rigs can access the site easily via standard roads.

The location functions as an active public boat ramp, which means vehicle and boat trailer traffic continues throughout day and night hours. Kristine R. notes "people are coming in and out all day" while still finding the waterfront parking "felt private and safe." Light sleepers should expect ongoing activity from boaters launching at various hours. The site offers direct water access and open views across the river.

Basic amenities include picnic tables, trash service, and ADA accessibility. Cell service reaches the area reliably. Pets and alcohol are permitted. The location sits within a residential neighborhood setting, with campgrounds near Charleston available for those seeking full-service facilities.

One reviewer warns about potential height restrictions for taller RVs, suggesting campers with vehicles over 12 feet should watch for low overhangs when approaching the site.

Free waterfront parking with beautiful views and safe location, but expect continuous noise from boat ramp activity day and night. Several guests noted camping restrictions may apply.

Nice view

I stayed over night, nice view and enjoyed it. If you are a light sleeper it’s probably not good. Since it’s a public parking lot and boat ramp there are cars and boats coming in and out at all times, even late night. I don’t mind it, so it was fine for me, and it’s free. A Californian doing a cross country trip :)

Safe and all the views

Traveling just me and my dog and the boat ramp parking lot felt private and safe. It’s in beautiful neighborhood and you can park right up by the water. It’s not 100% quiet since people are coming in and out all day.

Sunset views

Nice free overnight parking spot. Public boat ramp so people will be in and out of the water at all hours of the day, not quiet. Beautiful sunsets if you can arrive in time for them. May want to watch for low overhangs if your vehicle is over 12ft tall.
