The campground sits at the edge of a working livestock farm outside Folly Beach, South Carolina, where sites are divided between an open pasture and a pine grove with a dense floor of needles. The pine-shaded sites run along the marsh near Hut Creek, while the field-facing sites give open sightlines toward the grazing animals and surrounding farmland.
Marty E. notes that "quiet, respectful and efficient seems to be the general behavior of campers here," and weeknight stays can be nearly solitary. Weekends draw more visitors, but the sites are large enough that privacy holds even at higher occupancy. Light pollution is minimal after the nearby general aviation airport closes for the night, which makes the sky worth watching. Wildlife sightings logged by campers include egrets, eagles, waterfowl, raccoons, and at least one dolphin passing through the inlet.
Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. One outhouse serves the campground, and multiple reviewers describe it as clean and well-maintained. Firewood is available on-site. Cell service works here, and the self-check-in process is straightforward. Campers who want to resupply can reach grocery stores and dollar stores within a short drive, and those planning a longer stay sometimes use the campground as a base for day trips into Charleston, though traffic on the corridor can add significant time to that commute. Description
We have a 300 acre, working farm on Johns Island, SC. The campsite is adjacent to a saltwater creek. Each site has a picnic table. Many of the sites have fire pits. There is an outhouse. But no water or electricity. We have cows, pigs, water buffalo, any one of which may wander through.
