Spectacular Location

Super friendly staff, great location, waterfront camping and I can bring my boat. We had a great time. The problem is all the annual residents don’t follow their own rules. No one is supposed to drive trough the campsites, people were driving trough and walking through our campsite at all hours.

Avoid this place- rundown and terrible management

I'm not sure why the reviews of this place were good. The only positive thing was the serving staff at the restaurant. I'm traveling in a van. So why would I pay upwards of 60 per night for a place with no showers and terrible bathrooms. It took me two days to find the large dumpster which is placed in a weird area. The sites are not cleaned up and it's far away from any amenity like a grocery store. It seems they decided to turn a marina into a campground and are not doing a good job maintaining it. When I complained of no hot water and low water pressure the manager kept blaming it on me that I should have reported it earlier. He was so rude and didn't even offer a partial refund. Absolutely horrible place. I'm forced to leave early with no refund.

Angels Landing Review

This place was just okay compared to other places. I mostly picked this place because online it states that it has a lot more to offer than it actually does, and there is ZERO privacy. Most of the sites are long term, we did get a waterfront site, but because people anchor their boats anywhere they please, this means people were driving their golf carts all over our campsite day and night, and parking their carts all over the back part of our site. Im talking 11pm parking directly outside our windows and talking. Not a fan. Also, the website states that they have a rec center, they don’t. It’s an empty building with no AC. No volley ball. Basketball court has seen better days. Restaurant is good but more expensive than I think it’s worth. One big redeeming factor is that the pool is awesome. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Beautiful

We enjoyed our site very much. It was on the creek and we were right across from the restrooms and the store and the restaurant.

Neat Campground close to Lake Moultrie

Angel’s Campground is adjacent to Lake Moultrie and is a great place to launch a boat for fishing. The Santee Cooper area if famous for record sized catfish and other species. The campground landscaping is well-maintained. It does accept tent campers, but I would feel out of place if I were just tent camping. Most of the campers are large travel trailers and RVs, and most of those from what I can tell are permanent campers. There’s nothing wrong with that, but the spaces are too close together with not much privacy for tent campers.

The main activity, of course, is the lake; however, there are other things such as a swimming pool and a basketball court. If I stayed longer than one night, I’m sure I would discover much more. The campground is quiet, and the other campers seemed friendly. I gave it only four stars because the sites are not all that spacious or private, and the bath house really needed updating. I guess most people use the bathrooms in their RVs, but still, I was a little disappointed.  I did like the size of the shower stall, however.  It was very spacious.

The sites remind me of the gated communities in which the houses are on top of each other and you can stick out your hand and shake the neighbor’s hand through the window. It’s not that bad, but I do prefer a little more privacy. There is a store with all the supplies you need, but it’s on limited hours.

Overall, I would recommend this campground, especially if you want to launch your boat and you are in an RV.  However, I would have reservations about staying here in a tent.

Angels Stay in Heaven - and this is it!

Nowhere you may roam will you find better people and nicer accommodations than at Angel's Landing! Al Jones is the owner and he has been doing this for a very long time. The campground has expanded over the years but is still very cozy. The restaurant serves up great food if you are not a camp cooker. Several businesses nearby usually have workers who lunch there regularly. There is a boat launch, and bait and tackle shop adjacent to the restaurant. They have a wonderful events planner and almost always something special is happening, whether Halloween parties, golf cart decorating parades, pool party/cookouts, BBQ & covered dish dinners. This is a great family oriented campground, but these people know how to adult party, too.
