Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Water access sits at the center of what draws campers to Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach, a full-hookup resort campground set along a forested stretch near the river outside Conway, South Carolina. Sites accommodate rigs up to 60 feet with electric, water, and sewer connections, and the grounds include a lazy river, multiple pools (including heated indoor and outdoor options), a waterpark, and a tiki bar. The range of on-site recreation is substantial. As deb K. put it, it's a "spectacular resort with so many amenities and shuttle to private beach club," which gives campers a way to reach the coast without driving themselves.

The campground runs toward the resort end of the spectrum. Sites are flat, level, and well-maintained, but spacing between them is tight. Reviewers who are accustomed to state park camping with trees and buffer between neighbors note the difference. Summer weekends bring crowds, particularly around the pools, so those looking for a quieter stay may want to visit during shoulder seasons. A winter stay still provides access to the heated lazy river, indoor pools, and indoor jacuzzi, along with the arcade, mini bowling alley, and fitness center.

The resort also has a general store stocked with RV parts, basic groceries, and propane supplies, which reduces the need for supply runs. Golf cart rentals are available on-site. Rates run $60 to $225 per night depending on season and site type. Reservations are available and fill quickly around holidays. The New Year's Eve buffet, for reference, ran $225 for a party of five in 2022, noted by Tucker M. as good but pricey.

Nearby alternatives include River Island Adventures to the northeast and Apache Family Campground and Myrtle Beach Travel Park to the southeast, or browse campsites near North Myrtle Beach for a broader look at what the area has to offer. Pets are welcome, and the combination of full hookups, on-site dining, and beach shuttle access makes this a workable base for families planning several days along the Grand Strand.

Staff was rude and very unhelpful. The place had an unpleasant odor throughout. Didn't seem like there was much to do there and the location is far away from everything. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

New Years Eve Weekend

We stayed here over New Years Weekend, dates were December 30th, 2022 to January 2nd, 2023. We had such a great time!

Amenities that were closed were the Big Pool and Waterpark.

But the following were still still open: Lazy River (Heated), 2 outdoor and 1 indoor pools (heated), 1 outdoor and 1 indoor jacuzzi, mini golf, basketball courts, gaga ball, Tennis Courts, and in the outdoor court yard many small activities. Indoor activities that were open were the indoor arcade, mini bowling alley, and Fitness Center.

For food they had a little cafe that offered good food and drinks. They do have a happy hour.

They offered a general store with a good array of items not limited but to include RV Parts (Surge protectors, sewage parts/ Treatment, Propane Hoses, Coax Cable, etc), condiments, basic groceries, alcohol, souvenirs, and outdoor games.

The only not positive thing was that we made reservations for a New Years Eve Buffet. For 3 adults and 2 kids it was $225.00 dollars. The food was good but I don’t think it was worth that.

Golf cart rentals for a 4 seater were $75.00 a day. We did it for one day.

Head and Shoulders Above the Rest

From the moment you arrive, it is fantastic. Someone takes you to your site. The sites are all level and very clean. No garbage, including leftover s'mores sticks in the campfire pit.

Our daughter rode off on her bike to fast from a family trip to the pool and got lost. We were in a panic searching for her and a ranger spotted her. Knew immediately that she was lost and we found her within 15 minutes! This place is head and shoulder's above the rest.

While we prefer state parks, we were pleasantly surprised by Carolina Pines and will definitely return in 2023. Can't recommend it enough.

Best resort we've been to yet

Spectacular resort with so many amenities and shuttle to private beach club. You get the country feel, but close to the beach. Huge concrete pull through sites. Hook ups are new and convenient. Not one thing that we didn't like We live 25 minutes away but will be back. This will disappoint us, when we travel to other places, leave us comparing to this resort. Call and give veterans discount as well!

More than Camping

My husband and I stayed there for two weeks in January. It is a true resort. It has indoor pools, outdoor pools, waterslide, putt putt, bowling alley, and an arcade. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant and it was absolutely wonderful. The chef actually came out and spoke with us. The grounds are immaculately kept. The sites are all flat but there is not much space between the sites. If you’re used to camping in a state campground with trees and space between the sites, this is not the place for you.

We are going back in a week with my children. Two of my children and their families are renting the tiny houses that are available for rent. My husband and I will be in our camper it will be the hub for the family gatherings. Great place for kids to ride their bikes and splash in the water park. Can’t wait.

best rv park at myrtle beach

We have stayed at Carolina Pines 4 times with the last time being for a month. It was a wonderful experience with the staff providing activities, especially on the weekends. There are 4 pools and a water park for the kids. During the summer weekends they provide pool service for drinks which is really nice. Electric golf carts are allowed and they have rentals on site. The resort also has a beach house directly on the beach with shuttle service. Sites are well maintained. We will be spending New Years week there and understand that it is completely full!  This has become our go to beach resort.

10/10 Must Visit

BEST CAMPGROUND EVER. This campground has everything, most campgrounds claim they are a resort when really there a dump. This place is a true resort, it is very clean and modern. The campground has so much to offer... pools, activities, game rooms left and right, it’s just stunning. There’s places to walk everywhere, cabins are like 5 star hotels, they have a huge water park, mini golf, bowling ally and so much more. Would highly recommend. I’ve never had a campground have me speechless. I really enjoyed my time here. This place is new and I hope it continues to thrive and stay in good shape. My new favorite place 👍🏻
