Wonderful no frills Camping

A real gem on the Grand Ronde River. No water, no trash cans but two composting toilets. Paved sites and lots of trees. Most sites are private, and a couple 4 and 14 accommodate larger groups (2-3). The grounds could have been a bit more maintained but that’s me being picky. We went the day after…

Quiet campground along John Day River

We have spent 3 nights total at this USFS campground. It is a small campground along the middle fork of the John Day River. There are 2 vault toilets to service this small campground. Up in the woods

We ended up at this spot after finding roads closed by snow farther up the hill. It had plenty of fairly flat ground for our 26” skoolie. There was a fire ring, but we didn’t use. It got very cold at night. We were fine in our bus, but our traveling partner had his water bottle freeze in his tent.…

Beautifully maintained campground in the Blue Mountains

We stopped by Anthony Lakes on our way back to the Willamette Valley from Baker City. The campsite is on a property that becomes a ski resort in the winter (it's at over ~7000 ft). The campground was immaculately maintained and had lots of recreation options. On weekends in the summer, the ski lift…

Nice and Quiet

We went late in the year and it was very quiet. Clean, low traffic. Based on size of day use area it looks like the lake is probably busy during the summer. Nearby Sumpter is a neat little town with lots of history. Be sure to tour the Dredge.

Used very little. Finally a quiet place after 3 months on the road. Clean vault toilets if needed. Pack it in - pack it out. No water, so bring your own.

Nice roomy sites with partial hook ups

After dry camping for 3 days, we needed a hook up site but prefer campgrounds to RV parks.  This campground fit the bill with a water and elec hook up.  We made reservations about 2 weeks in advance.

The campground is on Lake Phillips but you can’t see the lake from most sites.  The water level…
