A Little Piece of Heaven

We love camping at Northwest passage campground. It’s beautiful and woodsy. Depending on what campsite you stay in the river is close. The bathrooms are clean and well-kept. There is no running water at the bathrooms. There are three total in the campground. There are only 22 sites so not a huge…

Perfect location, beautiful lake

This campground was packed but my particular spot had a decent amount of space between me and the campsites on either side. It backed up to a fence (a neighborhood is on the other side apparently). It was a bit of a walk from the bathhouse but not horrible. This particular bathhouse was different…

Good Lake in the Backcountry

Decent about of campsites on the side of Hazard Lake. The lake itself is fairly small but many campers kayak or paddle board on it. Lots of fishing as well. All the sites have a fire pit and table plus parking for 2 cars if you park close. There are several sites that don’t really have water views…

Beautiful and Inexpensive

We stayed in site 8 (full hookups) which is on the river. The view of the river was so spectacular. The river is several feet down with no fence so not the best space if you have young kids (which we don't). The site was large enough to park our 31ft 5th wheel. We had a small lawn for our dog. …

Lovely Spot

This is the place summer dreams are made of! Hiking, kayak and SUP rentals. Swimming. Glacial rivers and lakes. Wallowa Lake is in the cute artistic cowboy town of Joseph. Nez Perce territory.

The campground itself can get crowded, with lots of families who return every year, but there is so…

Paradise in Eastern Oregon

The best state park we’ve visited, and we’ve been to many! Right on the lake, close to the tram and hiking, and close to the town of Joseph. We loved it here! The only regret was not staying longer.

Amazing!!

7/2-7/4/2021 - lookout has 3 beds with mattresses, 2 burner propane stove/small oven unit and several pieces of furniture along with 4 chairs. Tower was clean when we arrived and we’ll kept! Sadly the fire season has started early this year so both mornings we woke up to smoke in all directions. We…

Great campground, especially for kids!

I have been here several times as a child, but my most recent venture was as an adult with my own children. It was really nice to see that not much has changed in the last ten years since I was here last, and my kids can enjoy the same campground Ive been going to since I was their age. The…

Warm place when snowmobiling.

As stated in description it's rustic. Not much to it but it did offer a sheltered place to build a fire/get warm and weather a bad storm. In the summer, the long rough road into it is not for everyone. Scenery is good and very quiet. If you want remote with the bare basics, this is the place.

Decent place.

Ok place. Wasn't overcrowded when there in October. No amenities but you can have a fire there. Was pretty peaceful.

Gorgeous , quiet, remote

Late spring was a perfect time to spend a couple days in the mountain wilderness. Wildflowers we’re in bloom and temperatures were moderate during the day and a little cold at night. There is one clean vault toilet for the area, close enough to the campsites. Campsites are essentially a driveway…

Wallowa Lake has it all!

Facilities were top notch and there are lots of activities in the nearby town. Campground is large and sites are fairly close together. Mountains and lake are stunning!

Lovely Lake

This park is enchanting - a little oasis in the dry eastern Oregon landscape, huge trees, imposing mountains. It gets packed at the lake shore, but there are lots of places to hang out in the day use area further from the beach that are near-empty. Good facilities. As a plus, the hike at the top of…

Beautiful lake!

We arrived in late November, when it was cold, snowy, and practically empty. But the campground and all of its facilities were open, and the camp host was extremely friendly and helpful!
