Decent sites with full hook ups

Right beside a cow pasture, so that’s cool. Not to hard to level, but kind of tight on some corners for my 30’ motor home.

Nice little campground

Nice little Forest Campground. Had no trouble getting our 30 ft Class A in there. Was surprisingly full on a Wednesday when we arrived but was empty on Friday. Was being used by bow hunters in the area and folks visiting the Painted Hills.

Quiet, Clean, Friendly

My friend and I had a lovely week+ long stay at this campground while attending a class a few minutes up the road. The bathrooms and showers were clean and it felt like we had them to ourselves most of the time. The campsites are spread apart and separated by many trees, so our site felt very…

Labor day weekend

First come first serve...was a little worried, especially on Labor day weekend. Arrived on Friday morning and there were several good spots to choose from. The spots are paved and level. Camp host water the spaces when they are vacant. Spaces are green and lush. Camp host were REALLY nice and…

Quiet dry campground

This campground is 6mi (paved) off the main road. It was a quiet wooded site with small number of sites. We did get woken by noisy cows each morning.

3600 ft up, cool & shady

We stayed on a Tuesday night at the end of July. At other campgrounds in the area the temperature was in the high 80s. At Bear Hollow, it was a wonderful 72°. The toilets were immaculate with hand disinfectant and air fresheners provided and plenty of toilet paper. US tons of space. No reservations…

Tucked away

Lots of cows… funniest thing ever! One woke me up when it was sniffing at the tents rain cover! Good little tucked away site with spring water, fire pits and lots of empty space for my truck. Make sure to stop at the sign, we went about 2-3 extra miles looking before we came back lol

Camped here on bike tour

Near the painted hills of Oregon! Not much to it, but there are restrooms with running water. Caught a ride from here to the hills for sunset.

Mitchell is a nice little town in central Oregon.

Quiet and lovely

Great lake for swimming, paddling and walking. Ponderosa forest, osprey hunting every evening and resident beavers.

Nice little spot

Shaded pull through and easy back in sites. Good value. Stream running next to the sites. Close to town. It is next to the fairgrounds, but very quit when no events. Good place to spend the night while traveling through

Not a campground

This place is on private property and has gates all around the area. Maybe it was once a campground but surely not anymore.

Campground temporarily closed

We drove to this location on June 19, 2021 and found that the forest service has closed this Campground because of a beetle infestation. They are in the process of cutting down all the dead trees and will not open vehicle access or Campground access until July 30th of 2021

Lovely park-like setting

Well maintained, clean, beautiful spot close to the river. Large campsites with clean table and fire pits. Nice showers. Very green and full of birds. Short river walk. It is close to the highway and can be loud at time. Right now, same rate for residents/non-residents ($26), it doesn't take…

Quiet campground along John Day River

We have spent 3 nights total at this USFS campground. It is a small campground along the middle fork of the John Day River. There are 2 vault toilets to service this small campground. There is no water or garbage so bring your own water and pack out your garbage. The sites are very spacious and you…
