Was looking for a remote, simple camp ground in the U.P. and was not disappointed. With a small walk to the beautiful beaches, a long day hike of the waterfalls, with access to the Porkies you can not find a better place. Yes, the only thing you will get is running water and vaulted toilets, but the campsites are clean, and well kept, good for just popping a tent and sleeping after a long day of playing in the U.P. play ground.
I only stayed for one night but it was incredible! The waterfalls are remarkable. Stay for more than one night because there is so much to do.
This place is breathtaking. Taken care of lake with big camping sites. Only down side is the electric is stationed in the cross of for sites. So bring long extension cord. Clean swimming area along with plenty of wild life. Seen a few bald eagles fishing while there. There is a rental place north of the campgrounds to rent pontoons and the like.
Well this is so beautiful and exotic. It is on Lake Superior but it is up high, so there are beautiful views.
In the evenings, we followed the trails to the Harbor and caught a gorgeous sunset.
The campground has adequate bathrooms.
The sites have sone privacy but not a ton.
Gorgeous place to stay that is near all the waterfalls in the recreation area.
This was a manicured campground and served it's purpose. We were heading towards the south end of lake superior and needed a place to stop. If you like commercial-style campgrounds, you like this one. The site layout is easily accessed. Electricity at all sites. No sewer hookup. No trees, just a nice level pad.
This place in the fall is magic. Beautifully wooded, many sites have a view of Lake Superior. You can hear the waves at night. Some of the sites are a tight squeeze if your rig is large, opt for the pull-through. Don’t expect to do work or school, service and internet up there is practically non existent. Instead, walk the shore of Superior, enjoy the all gorgeous sights the Porcupine Mountains have to offer just a short drive away. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well kept.
This place is fairly new and in excellent condition. It is well maintained. There are only a few sites and most are drive through. There is a beach on a 39-acre lake. I highly recommend this place! https://www.vilaswi.com/lodging/camping/torch-lake-campground-and-rv-park/
