Nice spot

Quiet 25 site campground. It does get a lot of “non camper traffic” A little road noise but the river makes up for it.

Vacation camping

This is a very well kept up, clean, family campground. It has cabins, RV sites, and tent sites. It’s right by the Pere Marquette River for great fishing, and the campground has a really nice pool if you’re not into swimming in the lakes or river. Very modern, good for parties, events, etc.

Manistee River Trail and North Country Trail Intersection

This area has a special place in my heart, as it is the first place my wife and I camped in Manistee National Forest and the first place I took my son “real camping” at age 5, and it’s a spot we have revisited for things as important and special as birthdays and our wedding anniversary one year.…

Disc golf/fisherman’s campground

I stayed here for a couple nights while I was on a business trip up that way, because camping is way cooler than staying at hotels. It’s all rustic sites, but the campground is nice. There’s good hiking, an awesome disc golf course, and the lake right there with boat launches for fishing. If you’re…

Good for a 2-day camp.

Great river trail with a decent amount of campsites. We arrived late Friday and most spots were taken. I’d imagine most spots are scoped out earlier in the evening. A lot of people camping/running/hiking. The east side of the river is more hilly but has an abundance of water spots to fill up. The…

Great sites, short walk to beach

Nice quiet campground when I was there (week after labor day). $27 per tent site. Sites are nice and clean. Bathrooms were basic and clean enough. Short walk to a beautiful beach that you could walk on for miles. There is free, dispersed camping off of different roads around here.

Awesome Wooded Campground!

We stayed here over Labor Day Weekend 2021 and had a great time. The electric sites are all large campsites that are very long with lots of options on how you want to setup. Awesome wood pricing that's delivered directly to the campsite. Lots of walking trails and the campground was dog friendly.…

Quiet, off-grid, close to the dunes

The Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness is dispersed camping, and nearby is Lake Michigan Campground with tent and dry rv camping. We stayed there and almost had the whole place to ourselves.

Be warned- there is no cell service or wifi, so plan ahead and let people know you won’t be reachable. And then…

Dispersed campsites

Beautiful area with a lot of dispersed campsites, accessible by pretty much any vehicle, although the road is a bit sandy, so maybe take precautions after rain. Large sites, some with more privacy than others, and plenty of ideal hammocking trees. Also, there's a few more sites if you take the road…

Everything you need

I only spent a night here while passing through, but it's a very nice campground that's specifically suited to equestrians. This established and well maintained campground is free, and you can stay up to two weeks. There's a well kept pit toilet, 21 established campsites w/ firerings, and even a…

Cozy, Quiet, Very friendly staff!!

Really cool rustic sites as well as full hookup sites for rv and a boat access to lake Hamlin that you can take right out to lake michigan. In a very convenient spot right in between ludington and Big Sable point lighthouse. Only downside is if you're staying in a tent the showers aren't updated so…
