The shrubby black oak, stunted pitch pine, and delicate dune rose of this region offer the perfect backdrop to the roughly 400 miles of pristine shoreline. Bike along the Cape Cod Rail Trail for 22 miles of easy riding, as it weaves in and out of six Cape Cod towns along the Atlantic. 


A few hours north, Boston awaits with its iconic history and big city vibes. For a fresh way to see Boston, head downtown and kayak along the Charles River, an 80 mile waterway that meanders in and out of Boston’s neighborhoods and riverside parks. After exploring Boston and the Charles River, hop on a shuttle ferry to the Boston Harbor Islands, where you can set up your tent and watch as the city skyline lights up the night sky above your campsite.

Head inland to Western Massachusetts, where the Berkshires welcome you with rich, dense forests, exhilarating waterfalls, and a number of fantastic hikes along the Appalachian Trail. Hike to the highest point in Massachusetts, Mount Greylock, where you’ll be rewarded with outstanding views of four other New England states. Meadowlark Campground

The Martha’s Vineyard Campground began as a vacant wooded lot in 1968. The land was purchased by Charles and Jeanne Feeney from a retired doctor living in Vineyard Haven. Charles “Chuck” Feeney was an aerospace engineer at the time and was always taking his kids camping. His dream was to have a place for the family to camp and call it their own. So together with his wife and five children he converted a bus into a camper and carved out a site amongst the wild blueberry bushes and scrub oak trees. Our family fell in love with the island. We discovered all the island has to offer and found it irresistible. We were the tourists of yesteryear and what attracted our family back then still exists today: beautiful beaches, fabulous fishing, quaint villages and amazing sunsets. From the rolling hills of Aquinnah to the dunes of Katama, there is no place on earth like it.

Glamp Frogmore is a private, wooded retreat featuring a luxury 14'x16' tent with king bed, wood stove and couch, an additional 8'x10' tent with camping cots, firewood, outhouse, and everything you'll need for cooking over the fire. Spend time unplugging and playing cards, horseshoes, or paddling on the pond in the rowboat. . Glamp Frogmore is 30 minutes from Newport, beautiful beaches, the city of Providence, Watch Hill, and Mystic. Close local breweries, vineyards, bike trails, and hikes. Just 3 hours to NYC and 1.5 hours to Boston.

The goal of Second Beach Family Campground is to provide a peaceful, beach-camp atmosphere for those who love the ocean and to show how wonderful campgrounds in Newport, RI can be. We emphasize evenings of moderate sociability with posted quiet hours. An active off-site nightlife is available via a ten-minute drive to Newport or Middletown. 

Note: No Pets and No Tent Camping Allowed.
