Beautiful location

We arrived to this site about an hour before sunset and lots of the spots were taken, however we did find a little spot right on the water. It was kind of sloped but manageable. The views were amazing and we loved being right by the water, however the only issue we had was the wind. It was…

Beautiful and easily accessible

Beautiful views, went on a weekend and there were a lot of spots available, not far from town. Awesome spot.

Quiet, beautiful campground

Beautiful little campground between Twin Lakes and Independence Pass. Our site had a large enough space for our oversized ground tent and enough shade to keep cool in the heat of the day. Our site was adjacent to the river which provided a loud background noise that is heaven to sleep to. The views…

dreamy night sky

Reserved a few days ahead of time and had a great spot on the river. Incredible view and an absolutely psychedelic amount of stars. A variety of RVs, trailers, cars, and tents were camping and while sites weren't all that far apart they offered privacy and quiet. Someone was mistakenly in my…

Lakeside camping with boat ramp and trail access

We stopped at Matchless as we needed a first come site the night before our reservations at Molly Brown. We were a bit skeptical at first as it looks like a large asphalt parking lot. The campsites all surround the parking area so you park on asphalt but are steps away from your wooded site. We…

Secluded little campground

The Reudi reservoir is a beautiful area. Sunsets are gorgeous and there is a nice hike outside of one of the other two campgrounds in the area. I feel this little campground is the most secluded of the 4 in the area. However, not all sites offer reservoir views. Reservoir is very low this year.…

Just Beautiful

Great campground along the river. Some sites are shady, others are full sun which would be hot in the summer! Our site had a large area for hanging out, we could dip our toes in the water, and we had plenty for privacy from neighbors. No cell service. Water here has sulfur in it, so we just used…

Family fun!

Just got back from 3 nights at the Stoll Mountain campground. Our 2 kids and 2 dogs had a great time exploring the shoreline and fishing. Facilities were clean, rangers were friendly and helpful. Only complaint were the bugs, but might just be the time of year. Will visit again soon!

Quiet, cows, and cowboys

The campground is about 15 miles from the town of Paonia. We stayed three nights and only had one other camper in the campground. The ranch above us was moving cattle higher for the summer. As we were leaving the campground, we realized several of the cows had walked through our campsite to drink…

Hidden Gem

Chapman Campground is an awesome little place to get away. There's a huge variety of sites that will accommodate almost any camper except for large RVs. The tent sites tend to offer plenty of shade and separation from your neighbor, with water and toilets easily accessible from most locations. The…

Private Sites, Close to Trailhead

I camped two sites back from the trailhead loop. Hiked both days and enjoyed the access and privacy of the sites. Some atv activity along the access road, but not bad really. Clean vault toilet @ Brown Creek TH.

Absolutely beautiful

We stayed the night of Sunday 5/30. We had a wonderful experience staying here. The view was amazing. There were lots of nature trails to take as well. The cow poop added character to these trails :). We also really enjoyed fishing in the river and examining the amazing smooth rocks that were all…

great place to stay the night

This campground was super accessible. It was only 10 minutes from Leadville and the roads were easy to follow. The campsite was fairly full on this saturday 5/29 but there were still probably three or four spots open that evening. We even got one on the water even though we got there pretty late--…
