Platte River Campground

## Overview

Painted Rocks Campground is located a short distance from Manitou Lake Picnic Area and the Centennial Bike Trail in central Colorado. The rustic campground is named for the sandstone outcroppings in the area that resemble colorful streaks from an artist's paintbrush.

## Recreation

The paved, accessible Centennial Bike Trail is a half-mile from the campground. It connects to nearby Colorado and South Meadows Campgrounds, and leads to 5-acre Manitou Lake. Visitors enjoy riding bicycles on this trail to Manitou Lake for fishing and bird watching. Waterfowl and songbirds are often seen in the area.   
  
The nearby Rainbow Falls OHV Trail System and North Divide OHV Trail System are recommended for off-road vehicle enthusiasts.

## Facilities

The campground offers single-family sites on two loops. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided. Roads and parking spurs are gravel.

## Natural Features

The campground is nestled on the edge of a grassy meadow at an elevation of 7,800 feet. Most sites on the west loop are shaded by ponderosa pines, while sites on the east loop are more open and less shady. 

## Nearby Attractions

The town of Woodland Park is located approximately 7 1/2 miles south of Painted Rocks Campground, where campers can find gas, groceries, dining and shopping. Colorado Springs is about 30 miles southeast of the campground and offers many services. Garden of the Gods is a popular attraction just outside of town. This free City of Colorado Springs park offers hiking trails, rock climbing routes, a visitor center and cafe. Pikes Peak lies west of Manitou Springs, which is about 25 miles from the campground. Visitors can hike, bike, or drive to the summit of this beautiful mountain.

## Charges & Cancellations

Cancellations

Individual Campsites: Cancellations up to 2 days before a reservation start date incur a $10.00 cancellation fee. 

A visitor who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee including tax and applicable add-on for a campsite.

Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee.

No-Shows

A no-show visitor is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date.

No-shows are assessed $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and applicable add-on for a campsite. 

Refunds

Visitors may submit a refund request through their Recreation.gov profile within 7 days of the end date of their reservation. Refunds will not be issued after the 7 days has ended.

Refunds for debit or credit card payments will be issued as a credit to the original bank or credit card used to pay.

For check or cash purchases, Recreation.gov will mail a Treasury check for refunds of cash, check, or money order payments to the address associated with the reservation. Treasury check refunds may take up to 6-8 weeks to arrive. 

In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team or facility manager will refund all fees and will attempt to notify you using the contact information within the Recreation.gov visitor profile.

Painted Rocks

The South Platte Ranger District is located east of the Continental Divide in the central Rocky Mountains and lies adjacent to the Denver metro area in Park, Jefferson, Douglas, Clear Creek, and Teller counties. The South Platte District is 450,000 acres in size with elevations ranging from 5,800' along the South Platte River, to over 14,000' at Mount Evans. Feel free to stop by our visitor center on Highway 285 in Conifer to inquire about current conditions, find out what's going on, and get maps you may need to enjoy your visit on our District. Smith Acres

This is a lovely, shaded pull through drive in front of our home, which sits on a quiet street where most parcels are 2 acres or so. There is comfortable patio seating around a propane fire pit table for your use. We have a 30amp hookup, and water is available from a long hose from the house (hose is not rated for potable water but will be fine for washing up). There is a large fenced area where your dog can run free (as long as s/he gets along with our dogs, of course!) We are conveniently located between Evergreen and Conifer, only 11 miles to Red Rocks Amphitheater, and an easy commute to Denver!

The Rampart Range Recreation Area provides a unique setting for off-highway vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts to enjoy a variety of riding experiences. From intermediate to expert riders, ATV or motorcycle, the Rampart has something for everyone. Please make sure you are prepared and ride within your abilities. Changing conditions, natural hazards, as well as oncoming traffic may be encountered. Please become familiar with and obey all local rules and regulations. Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM) are available for free at your local USFS office or can be found at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/psicc/mvum.

Rampart Range Recreation Area

We have everything you need to have a great time in the Colorado Rockies. Tent sites, RV sites, and Camper Cabins! Relax in your shady site or take a dip in our heated outdoor pool. We also have a fishing pond, stocked with rainbow trout, a retro arcade, 24/7 lounge serving locally roasted coffee each morning, playground, and laundromat.

We’re outside the city lights at the base of Pikes Peak- 7600 feet elevation – yet our proximity to all the area’s many attractions makes us an ideal location for families looking for a summer adventure or folks just passing through for a couple of days. Lone Duck Campground and Cabins

## Overview

Kelsey is one of two campgrounds within the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area, about an hour's drive southwest of Denver, Colorado. Visitors enjoy a variety of recreational opportunities, including hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking and trout fishing. 

## Recreation

The Buffalo Creek Recreation Area is home to a 40-mile trail system most popular with mountain bikers, but hikers and horseback riders enjoy the area as well. Several trailheads are within the area, including Little Scraggy Trail, just 3 miles north of the campground. Access to the Colorado Trail and the Buffalo Burn Trail begin from this trailhead. Shinglemill Trail is also nearby.   
  
Buffalo Creek is a popular fishing stream for brook trout. The area offers great wildlife viewing opportunities for turkey, elk, mule deer, chipmunks and porcupines. 

## Facilities

The campground offers single-family sites, some of which are designated for tent camping only. Each site is equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. Vault toilets are provided. Drinking water is available from a hand pump, but hookups are not available.

## Natural Features

The campground sits at an elevation of 7,400 feet in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Summer temperatures are mild and range from 75-80 during the day to 55-65 at night.   
  
The Kelsey Overlook is just north of the campground along County Road 126, offering beautiful views of the valley below. 

## Nearby Attractions

The drive along County Road 126 southwest from Pine Junction affords magnificent views of the valleys below. Pikes Peak, at 14,110 feet, can be seen in the distance and other prominent rock formations present themselves throughout the scenic drive.

There are two additional single beds and a full size bed in the loft that rings the main living space. Just
ahead, too, you___ll notice the flat-panel TV above a custom fireplace. The kitchen counter is polished
wood. The floor is natural, the d__cor is natural, and the massive picture windows with their immense
views and copious light give the sense that this home is open to the elements, the sky, the mountain

This is a Tree House, so again, it may get chilly in the colder months. Bring extra socks and kick on the

Getting Around:
We recommend that you have a four wheel drive or all wheel drive car to access the property in the winter and muddy times of the year. The Tree House is located on a beautiful operating ranch! Please enjoy the area but please do not get to close to any fences or animals. We suggest bringing any groceries or food as the location is  the perfect getaway!

Other Things to Note:
AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 21 years old. We cannot accommodate guests who do not meet this age requirement unless prior approval has been granted by us before check-in.

Be aware, The kitchen is not fully functional. There is no stove or oven but it has a great cool induction
hot pad and pan.

This property is NOT suitable for children under the age of 5. ALL children must be supervised at all
times, thank you!
PLEASE NO PETS. Glorify Christ Church is home to many animals and there is a large risk for your pet as
well as the animals that live here.

Treehouse Mountain Views Unique Ranch Experience

The Indian Creek Equestrian Campground is an ideal camping site for avid horseback riders looking to explore the Indian Creek Equestrian Trail. The area provides a pleasant atmosphere plus nearby access to the Rampart Range, a well known off-highway vehicle riding area. The campground has 7 campsites with parking spurs 50-60' to accommodate horse trailer. Only 10 people and 4 horses max per campsite. Please use certified weed-free hay only. The area boasts wildlife like mule deer, turkey, elk and black bears. The Roxborough State Park is located to the northeast of the campground as has a reputation for its dramatic red-rock formations. Recreation The Indian Creek Trail, which is also called the Bear Creek Trail, is a loop trail that extends for 14 miles. In addition to horseback riders, mountain bikers and hikers also enjoy taking on the scenic journey. Facilities Four hitching rails and some small corrals are provided for common use. Drinking water is on hand from hydrants. There is no watering trough available. The campground is adjacent to the Indian Creek Campground, which is available for family camping. Natural Features Campsites sit among a mix of trees that provide both shade and sun throughout the day. These include Ponderosa pine, Gamble oak, Douglas fir, aspen and spruce. Indian Creek Equestrian Campground

Mature pines and 2 acres of meadow grass with fantastic sunsets. Privately owned 2 acres in a sparsely populated/rural mountain neighborhood. Maintained road access and plenty of room to maneuver your RV. 50amp electric service on property. Located within 30 min drive to popular outdoor recreation areas.



Fishing/Boating/Kayaking: Spinney Mountain & Eleven Mile Reservoirs and the gold medal waters on the Dream Stream of the South Platte River, Skagway Reservoir for no wake boats.

If you prefer a more relaxed drive, cruise the Gold Belt Scenic & Historic Byway that leads you through the Historic Mining towns of Cripple Creek and Victor.



Ride the Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gage Railroad. Gold Mine tours at the historic Molly Kathleen Mine. Take in the view atop the only active gold mine in the State of Colorado. Try your luck at the local Casino's in Cripple Creek. Visit one of our unique gift shops. The city of Victor is steeped with history and amazing hiking trails around old mining head frames and beautiful countryside.

Self-contained units only, tents allowed when accompanying RV. Small pop ups must have a porta potty. Maximum 2 RV's on site and must be in same camping party.



Pets must be under voice command or kept on leash. Roaming pets are subject to natural predators. (See wildlife below)

The Space:
Welcome to your fairy tale log cabin tucked among the evergreens. Step inside the split-rail fence and follow a pathway lined with tiny lights to your front door, noticing along the way a whimsical gazebo-shaped structure just steps from the main house.
 
As you step into the cabin, breathe in a room designed to mirror the refreshing mountain heights with a high, peaked ceiling with wood paneling and exposed beams. Log walls provide a rustic backdrop to a comfortable, contemporary sitting area with soft, inviting furniture, a TV, and fireplace. A screen door leading to the back deck permits the circulation of fresh mountain air.

At the opposite end of the room, an expandable leg table with two chairs provides a space for intimate meals or a relaxing game of cards. From here, you have an unobstructed view into the wide-open kitchen with its country-white cabinetry and the full-size appliances you___ll need for home-cooked meals, including a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. You___ll also appreciate the addition of a coffee maker, water filtration pitcher, and cooking utensils.
 
Your bedroom is a snug haven with exposed log walls, a queen bed draped in a country quilt, a ceiling fan, and a tremendous double-wide closet. Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit. The bath is appointed with contemporary fixtures including a spacious, glass-walled shower stall. Tucked inside a cupboard outside the bedroom, you___ll find a stacked washer and dryer for your convenience.

When you step onto the deck from the main living area, you___ll find yourself perched on a wooded slope with a set of stairs leading to ground level. The deck provides a comfortable, private space for cuddling or enjoying casual outdoor meals. A cushioned bench is perfectly situated in front of a mini-firepit, and you___ll also find a pair of comfortable chairs and a table.

Just steps from your front door, you___ll find the jewel of the property: a fully enclosed, furnished gazebo with windows all around. The Neighborhood:
Cascade is ideally situated for the traveler who wants to explore the Colorado Spring/Pikes Peak region to the fullest. This is where the Pikes Peak Highway begins, leading you up-mountain to the 14,000-foot-high summit of Pikes Peak.

Tucked in the Rocky Mountains, Cascade is surrounded by outdoorsy delights, including hiking trails, canyons, rafting adventures, hunting, ziplining, and much more.

Cascade is a mere 24-minute drive to Colorado Springs where you___ll enjoy award-winning dining, shopping, and cultural experiences.

The region abounds with museums and natural wonders, including sites like the 300-foot-tall rock towers of the Garden of the Gods, and opportunities for unique regional experiences like fossil hunting or viewing native wildlife. The town of Cascade offers casual dining options, and a 10-minute drive to Woodland Park multiplies those options with familiar national dining and shopping chains, as well as supermarkets.

Getting Around:
We recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in the Pikes Peak Region. We're happy to provide bus schedules and maps too if you'd like to use public transportation. The paved roads fully maintained by El Paso County Department of transportation. If your reservation is in Fall or Winter Season please know that a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended in case Mother Nature decides to share some snow. The roads can be slick even after the plows go by - best to wait until the salt trucks come out once the storm has passed.

Other Things to Note:
AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 21 years old. We cannot accommodate guests who do not meet this age requirement unless prior approval has been granted by us before check-in.

-We do not have onsite maintenance or cleaning unlike hotels. All requests will be taken care of ASAP and in the order that they have been received.
- Unfortunately, the indoor fireplace is out of order for now. 
-Central AC units are best kept at 68 degrees or above. Due to the lack of humidity in the area if the thermostat is lowered below 68 degrees it is possible that it can freeze the unit if it is working too hard. Unfortunately, it will take 24 hours for the unit to defrost before an HVAC specialist can service it. Our evenings are generally cool in the summer time, simply opening the windows will provide extra natural coolness. 
-Please review the sleeping arrangements prior to booking. 
-Please keep all trash secure in the bins. Do not leave any trash out overnight for your safety and the surrounding active wildlife in the city's area. 
-The TV's offer streaming services only for guest's to use their subscriptions. Just don't forget to log out!

Last, it___s your vacation, so you probably don___t want a lot of RULES. So think of these more as our strong requests:

- NO SMOKING inside. This includes Colorado___s newest cash crop.
- We provide fresh sheets, towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and essentials like shampoo, soap, toilet paper etc.
- Quiet Hours begin at 10:00pm per city ordinance. Please be courteous of the neighbors during your stay.

- We cannot guarantee early check-ins or late check-outs. If we are able to accommodate an early check-in or late check-out, we can do this free of charge. ## Overview

Meadows Group Campground offers a wonderful opportunity for groups to enjoy the great outdoors. Located just 45 miles south of Denver near the town of Buffalo Creek, Colorado, the campground provides easy access to trout fishing, hiking and mountain biking. 

## Recreation

Several trailheads for mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding are within a half mile radius of the campground. The Buffalo Creek mountain bike area and the Lost Creek Wilderness Area can be accessed from the campground via the Colorado Trail.   
  
Buffalo Creek is a popular fishing area for brook trout.

## Facilities

Two group campsites are available and each one fits up to 150 campers. Accessible picnic tables and vault toilets are onsite. Firewood is available at Buffalo Campground, a half-mile east on Forest Road 550. Please bring your own water.

## Natural Features

The campground sits at an elevation of 7,400 feet in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Temperatures are generally mild. About 67 miles south is Pikes Peak at an altitude of 14,110 feet. It is heralded as the easternmost mountain peak over 14,000 feet in the United States. 

## Nearby Attractions

Head to Wellington Lake or hike up one of the many peaks like Little Scraggy Peak. 

## Charges & Cancellations

Group Sites

Group Facility (including Cabins and Lookouts): A visitor who cancels a group overnight facility reservation less than 14 days before the arrival date will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee.

No-Shows

A no-show visitor is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date.

No-shows are assessed $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and applicable add-on for a campsite. 

Refunds

Visitors may submit a refund request through their Recreation.gov profile within 7 days of the end date of their reservation. Refunds will not be issued after the 7 days has ended.

Refunds for debit or credit card payments will be issued as a credit to the original bank or credit card used to pay.

For check or cash purchases, Recreation.gov will mail a Treasury check for refunds of cash, check, or money order payments to the address associated with the reservation. Treasury check refunds may take up to 6-8 weeks to arrive. 

In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team or facility manager will refund all fees and will attempt to notify you using the contact information within the Recreation.gov visitor profile.

From Eastbound I-70, go **SOUTH** (right) through the flashing caution light (about 7.7 miles). The first gate on the right is where we are located!

​From Westbound I-70, go forward through the stop sign. Turn **SOUTH **(left) on Kiowa-Bennett Road. This will take you OVER the Interstate. Continue south through the flashing caution light (7.7 miles). The first gate on the right is where we are located!

**Precautions**:

Please note that this is a working ranch, as well as our home, school, and businesses. We may be out when you arrive. Feel free to walk around and see the animals. We do have 6 working dogs that will probably greet you before we do. They are friendly and will "go home" when told to. Their names are Dixie, Ringo, Brandy, Riptide….and the puppies are Willow and Saban.

There are insects, goats heads, and snakes present. Hard as we try, the ground erodes when it rains and is not always level. We recommend leashing your pets as we don't have an enclosed dog area built yet…. coming spring 2023!

The wind can blow a lot out here.

Please don't feed the animals, as they have special diets (and we don't want anyone to be bitten). Be diligent in hand washing after handling any of the animals. Keep a close eye on kiddos aged five and under.

You may hear gunfire as the coyotes are bad for all of the ranchers out here. If you are interested in brushing up your skills we do have a range on site with an additional dedicated archery range.

Babies are born usually in bad weather at night, and we may be assisting them with headlights on in the field. It is not our intention to disturb our guests, and we try to be as respectful as possible to you and your sleep. The roosters however, we cannot control their morning songs.
