Excellent Choice!

Great place in an awesome location! Stayed for 3 months beginning of 2020 and had a great time! The host is always checking to make sure your stay is everything g you need! Location allows access to some absolutely GORGEOUS places to explore in Colorado. The camp sites are a little snug but a few do have more room for privacy. Beautiful Rio Grande runs through the park and trees provide a very comfortable setting. Lots of wild life and stars are amazing at night

We really liked this spot

We camped here in June and had the place to ourselves.  We snagged a spot right on the river and spent a couple of nights.  While there isn't any serious hiking from the campground, just up the road was one of the best we've seen.  Great views and gentle climb in a valley with great views.

The sites are typical of a Forest Service campground, spread out with plenty of room.  This campground is best suited for campers under 30'.  The road in was terrible washboards.  Take your time.

Good hiking from the campground

We spent two night here and really enjoyed it.  There is a nice hike right from the campground.  The trail allows motorcycles but it doesn't appear they have been there much.  We didn't see any.  Usage would be light/medium I would say.  The road in is good for all vehicles but I question the length recommended.

Our 5th wheel is a short one and there we only a couple of sites we could fit.  I would think a 30' trailer would be about it.  There were a couple of dispersed sites on the way in that could have taken a bigger unit.  The road in is a one lane affair so a big rig would have an interesting time if they ran into some one going in the opposite direction.

Rugged road up to the lake with decent dispersed options

Smaller RVs can pull off at South entrance to the road and high clearance can continue on to the lake and trailhead further up the road.

Tent spots are available the entire way up.  Water was only available at the lake in August so come prepared.  Lots of elk trails, and the views were fantastic.  Road to the lake can be a bit busy and dusty if you have a spot close to it btw.

Very Nice, Very Friendly Staff

We stayed here for 12 days cause of center location to see it all. Hardware store up the road for any small fix-its. If you had a long day playing tourist order pizza and they will deliver it to your RV

Very nice and clean!

We were only here for one night but would definitely stay here again!

They have a large facility with RV sites, look liked some small cabins to rent, restaurant, laundry mat and probably some other things we didn’t get a chance to see. Also had propane fill-up on site. It is conveniently located along the river north of town. The river has a walking trail which leads to the hot springs and town.

The hosts were super nice and easy to communicate with. They text you all the information after you make your reservation which was super helpful. The location is super clean and well maintained.

Perfect established campground

Williams Creek is just about the perfect spot if all dispersed sites are full, or if you’re more comfortable with established campsites with toilets and hosts.

We stayed here during stage 1 fore restrictions so we could build a campfire.

Hosts were very friendly and kept the facilities immaculate. Firewood available for purchase from them.

The views here are incredible. Near 360 view of peaks and a crystal clear stream. Some premium sites are near the stream.

It’s about 40 minutes to Pagosa Springs due to washboard roads, but the drive itself is worth it.

Dispersed camping only

There is no campground here but dispersed camping is allowed in some areas.

Nice site layout; Enjoyable stay! - THIS IS NOT KOA! NOW CALLED OASIS RV

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly staff; shuffled our stay around so we could extend and not relocate during the week.

WIFI/ CELL SERVICE: Camp wifi and speed seemed to work really well! I could use email and stream videos with no delay; however we used a hot spot for work calls to be more clear, but their wifi probably could have been fine to do so. 2 of 4 bars AT&T but calls came in fine throughout the entire park.

SITE: Pretty campground layout. Love the"S" curved pull thru sites. We had an"S" shaped site with nice privacy and ease of arriving and leaving because of design. The sites all seemed to be nicely spaced from one another and private even though you are nearby. There were some views and there were a few pretty fall trees and a vacant pasture to look at while sitting at the picnic table. A small creek flows along the edge of site 23. Full hookup; level site; heated water so didn't have to worry about pipes freezing during stay; fire pit; grill; full sun site; rock roads but well maintained and not too dusty; light road noise. I'm sure the sites closer to the highway are louder near the campground entrance; no bugs in October that we experienced.

OTHER: Nearby Walmart and shopping center. About 20 min drive from Historic Downtown; about 5 minutes from Anytime Fitness gym. Laundry room was small and they didn't clean our clothes very well, but it was kept clean.

Beautiful wooded RV campground

We stayed at blue spruce for a week while working remotely which required good cell coverage. We have Verizon and despite having no service on the drive to blue spruce, once we arrived the bars lit up! This campground was great, nice clean grounds, shaded pines every where, a playground, horses, and a short drive down to valicito lake. They have full hookups, a country store, a short hiking trail, games center, and a group pavilion. The only negative thing to say was that many sites were too close to each other… We like our space and are used to state parks. We really loved our stay!
