Very secluded

Great camping experience overall. Bathrooms were clean but the toilet paper isn’t kept up with so make sure you bring some. And dehydration is very real out there, take water. There is no pump. Only 3 dedicated camping spots, with a fire pit. Bugs were bad when we went, LOTS of gnats. But it was…

Dry camping with big skies

We camped here in mid May during the week.  We were one of only 5 campers in the entire campground.  It is dry camping so come prepared.  It is also wide open with trees only off in the far distance.  If it is windy, which it often is in eastern Colorado, come prepared.  During the summer the sun…

Good site. No water.

Low light pollution, closest water is at Hasty campsite 10 minute drive away. No wind shelters on picnic tables. Mosquitos can drain a cow in 15 minutes. Bring Deep Woods Off. Closest campsite was about 100 feet away.

Perfect

Quiet. Secluded. Safe. Beautiful sunsets. Stopped off for an overnight on the way to Great Sand Dunes NP. So glad we found this place. Highly recommend.

This campground is NOT accessible by vehicle if the road is wet.. There are four designated sites, three overlook the canyon and one is intended for those with horses. There is a vault toilet. This campground is at the Picket Wire Canyonlands trailhead, which boasts the largest dinosaur track site…

Beautiful but buggy!

We come to this reservoir all the time! They do a have a boat ramp and a few “beaches” to set up at if you want. But it’s covered in bugs. I know I know, that’s what camping is about BUT they are just annoying! Takes me a good hour after each trip to vacuum they all up out of the camper after each…

Terrifying

Got there late at night. There was a tweaker man with a shotgun who did not seem friendly. Really scared and had to leave

Not exactly what I expected

Very large open gravel and prairie area. Long drive from there entrance to sites on gravel roads. Sites near water are still about 100-200 yards from the water. Lots of wind, no trees. The basic sites have a table, grill, parking pad, and tent pad, all on gravel. The area is very large so getting…

Last minute

We were traveling through and needed a place to crash for the night so we decided to stop in for the night... Was a great family friendly environment and pet friendly... Would recommend them without hesitation... I look forward to camping there more in the future myself...

Reserve ahead of time - camp reservation system unrealible using phone

This is more of a review on the Colorado's reservation system than the campground it self.  This is a by reservation only campground, which I did not know about before arriving as I was traveling and this was not my intended stopping point for the night.  As it turned out I was unable to camp…

Beautiful park!

No one was there when we stayed at Point. It was really windy, I enjoyed that. The lake view and rocky shores were beautiful. Oh! And it was reasonable. $20 I believe.

I got lucky enough to find a pile of wood at another camp site to use. Other than that, there was none around.

Point Campground

We stayed here 4th of July weekend. The lake hasty spots were all booked up but there was some on the point available last minute. These spots have some of the best views for the sunset. Some things to consider. No water so bring your own or you’ll have to go fill up at the lake hasty one.…
