No Longer a Free spot

My family and I have camped here at various sites many times over the years. We were surprised to see it is now a fee area, at $25.00 a night (more depending on vehicle#). Considering we paid to camp, the facilities were as gross as ever. I don't think we will be returning.

Perfect Experience

We arrived on a Sunday morning without a reservation and were lucky to snag a first-come first-served site. Our site was very spacious and private, which is exactly what we were after. The site offers both shaded and unshaded areas. The camp host has firewood for sale just in case you run out. The…

Great campground, no water!

Burning bear is a great, small campground. Sadly, the well water is non-potable, but there is a waterfall down the road where you can get water to filter. The location is great, especially if you want to hike Mt Bierstadt. They do take reservations, so snag one if you can.

The worst place ever

When I bought my first RV, 35 ft allegro. I stayed there for 4 months. Never had any problems except the wifi and the mud. 500.00 month. 2 months later came back, the office was closed so I parked and was planning to go to office when I got dressed. The owner was knocking on my rv at 730 and told…

Super Unplugged

I adored this road! There were no more places available but an RV let us set up a tent with a fire pit on the other side of their RV. Close to hikes including Bierdstat and Silver Lake. Roads were good too considering I have a tiny hyundai.

Location is nice. But it can get packed quick.

Went up for some close Winter camping back in March. There was still a decent amount of people camping around us but it was super nice and quiet. Spaces are very private the farther back you go. there are 12 numbered sites spaced well apart the farther back you go. I have been here before in the…

Nice Campground- Close Proximity to World-class Fly Fishing

This is not exactly our type of campground, which is the only reason I give it 3 out of 5 stars.  It is a little too exposed to sun and wind (see pics), but there are some sites that are tucked away a little more comfortably than others.  I suggest looking at a site map before choosing your…

It’s Ok

The sites are nicely spread apart for the most part. The only real issue is the seemingly continuous parade of ATVs. I heard from one of the Sheriff’s Deputies that an ATV rental outfit to the north is recommending people to go to Gordon Gulch. It made sense since there were a lot of helmeted…

Clean, serene, and green

This is the first time I've camped in Fall River Road and it is wonderful! Best part, FREE! With hiking trails, water(creek) and a beautiful camp site

Sweet Views, Road Traffic

Nice quick stay outside of Breckinridge. Pullouts are pretty tight so best for vans type camping. Maybe larger sites further up the mountain. Plenty of keep traffic, mountain and e-bikes. Enjoyed the views! Would stay again.

Run Park

The office staff is very helpful. In the south part of the park, it is an asphalt parking lot with full hookups. The north part of the park has trees. The sites in the north section are gravel, dirt, asphalt, and a small number of concrete pads. The south area can handle large rigs. The picnic area…

Blue lake weekend trip

The campsites are great, views are great! Absolutely no complaints. Maybe not the best if you’re looking to hike but one of my favorite car camping places I’ve ever been.

Large sites with good shade!

We stayed here one night during the week just to escape the Denver heat.

Pros: sites are large and most of them have good privacy/shade. About half the sites are right along the river. The bathroom on site was also cleaner than other campground outhouses.

Cons: the road is rough getting here.…

Beautiful location

We arrived to this site about an hour before sunset and lots of the spots were taken, however we did find a little spot right on the water. It was kind of sloped but manageable. The views were amazing and we loved being right by the water, however the only issue we had was the wind. It was…

Not for campers

Camp area was more for unhoused people in the area. I was camping in my car and the site was a walk-up, so I couldn't use it luckily. The facility did work with me and put me in a non-working RV site by the tent area, but someone pulled on my door during the night. The sink in the shower area was…
