Set along the South Edisto River, Aiken State Park is a haven for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. 

A scenic 1.7-mile canoe and kayak trail winds its way down the south fork of the Edisto River, attracting paddlers from across the region. 

Aiken State Park has a history as notable as its natural beauty. During the Great Depression, the park was built by two Civilian Conservation Corps companies, one of which was an African-American detachment of the C.C.C. Their work has withstood the test of time and can still be seen in some of the remaining structures and interpretive signage.

## Overview

Ridge Road Campground is located on a scenic peninsula on J. Strom Thurmond Lake, and is one of the area's first campgrounds.   
  
The 70,000 acre lake and its 1,000+ miles of shoreline provide excellent boating, water skiing, swimming, fishing, hiking and picnicking.

## Recreation

Thurmond Lake provides some of the best fishing, hunting, and water sports in the southeastern United States. Anglers fish for largemouth bass, bream, crappie, catfish and striped bass. The large lake offers endless boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, canoeing and swimming opportunities.   
  
Many miles of hiking trails are available a few miles from the campground. Hikers enjoy the 1.8-mile Lake Springs Loop and the 27-mile Bartram Trail, which meanders along the scenic shoreline and through Wildwood Park. Shorter sections can be hiked from several intersecting trailheads.

## Facilities

This wooded, waterfront campground has beautiful views of the lake. It contains 63 sites with water and 50-amp electrical service. Six sites are for primitive tent camping.   
  
Amenities include flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities and a dump station.   
  
A playground, boat ramp, dock, and fish cleaning station are located on-site.

## Natural Features

Hot, humid summers and mild, pleasant winters characterize this heavily wooded area on the shore of Thurmond Lake. A mixed pine and hardwood forest covers the site, providing summer shade and fall color.   
  
Wildlife is abundant around the lake. Visitors regularly see southern bald eagles, migratory waterfowl and wild turkeys. The Ridge Road area is home to many families of whitetail deer. 

## Nearby Attractions

Numerous parks and recreation areas lie around Thurmond Lake, providing additional boating, swimming, hunting, and hiking opportunities. Nearby cities house museums, art galleries, zoos, restaurants, and shopping areas.   
  
The Augusta National Golf Club hosts the Masters Golf Tournament annually the first week of April.

Aiken RV Park is just 1 mile off Interstate 20 at Exit 22 turns left, and 6 minutes from beautiful historic downtown Aiken.

RV Park amenities include Wi-fi, Full Hookups, Shower Facilities, Laundry Facilities, and pull-through RV sites for the overnight customer. 

Pets are allowed only if the owner keeps them clean and quiet.

We are a husband/wife team in the process of  build our campground and make it an amazing place to stay/visit.

We are Exit #85 off Interstate 26, located next to Lake Monticello and only minutes from Lake Murray. We offer full hookups, 30 & 50 amp, for every size RV. Not to mention open spaces for that magnificent view. 

Broad River Campground and RV Park is located just 6 miles south of Plant V.C. Summer on HWY 215. Our location gives it all to you with a very short drive to and from work. We are conveniently located 6 miles from V.C. Summer and only 20 minutes from Columbia, Irmo and Chapin. If you want the best, come see us at Broad River Campground and RV Park! We are South Carolina’s favorite RV park and campground with a southern charm.

Enjoy a stroll in nature along one of our relaxing forest trails and if you want to try your hand at primitive camping let us know since we have several tent camping sites available.

We are booking reservations for our pioneer camping. Sites are $10 per campsite per night. Please note sites do not have access to fresh water or bathrooms. There is limited access to electricity in the common area but roughing it is meant to be part of the experience. Of course if you do need supplies, you are in the middle of Augusta, GA with a Family Dollar conveniently located next door. Once you step foot in the forest though you will feel as though you are miles away from it all!
Our forest trails are free to the public and a great way to get out in nature!
