Great for Smith

As others have said, this is great if you want to spend time at Smith Rock, especially if the Bivy is closed or full. Campsites are large. For me it was pretty quiet except for the howl of the coyotes in the hills, as the campground wasn't overly full. Toilets' could be better maintained.

Great Family Resort

Great place for families and large groups. Pool for the kids. Golf for Mom and Dad. Restaurants on site as well. Central Oregon Views can’t be beat!

Super chill camp spot

We came here about a week ago to explore the painted hills (obviously). And this camp spot was perfect! Our first night we were completely alone. Súper se Ulises space that doesn’t seem to be widely known. It seemed that most visitors were just passing through and not staying over night. It’s just…

Easy Access Nothing Special

We stayed here for 3 weeks. Being next to the fair grounds gets busy during the weekend, pretty empty during the week. The west side of the park has the better spots with plenty of room for a big rig or 5th wheel and parking for a car or large pick up. The east side is much tighter. Easy to get…

Great campsites, well spaced and close to the river.

Took a 24’ RV to campsite #5. Little rough for that rig, cars and trucks no problem. Sites are well spaced, many with excellent access and views of the river a few feet away. Cleanest vault toilets I’ve ever seen. Can barely hear the few cars that do go by. Beautiful, dramatic scenery that…

Surprisingly nice BLM campground

High camp with great views. Road from Christmas Valley is all washboard until Crack park, then it gets better. For BLM, it’s nice. Cold May morning at 17 degrees.

Gate open, closed to camping

Appears to still be open to camping, if you want to drive further in off the highway.

Quiet riverside

We camped in tents (and a hammock) in spot #1, and we loved it! There is so much evidence of Beavers! We saw a marten and waterfowl. The river is flowing and shallow with rocky shores; great for Fly fishing, kayaking, or floating. Four stars because there was a lot of glass, dog poo, and random…

Many beautiful views

So breathtakingly beautiful. I appreciated the beauty of the painted hills around us, had a nice a campfire. I liked all the signs on the painted cove trail explaining the geological history of the area. BLM camping i.e. free

Depends what you are looking for...

This is a great, barebones but roomy campground 15 minutes from Smith Rock. If you are looking for a place to set up because you want to spend the day hiking or climbing the Rocks, perfect. If you are looking for a spot to set up and enjoy the high desert sun and sage and rocks, and ride the miles…

Very nice Central Oregon Spot

Three night trip to Sisters, OR.  Very happy with this RV spot.  Nice staff, clean, flat pull through spacious spots.  Great amenities, with wonderful bathroom/shower facilities.

One of my favorite perks was if you put out your propane tank in front of your spot, they'll pick it up, refill it and…

Closed for winter?

Gate is still closed. Maybe for winter? We ended up going down to the dispersed Rock Quarry, by Sunriver, which is much higher in elevation and colder than this place.
