Worth the drive for us!

We took a group of 6 adults and 3 kids to Bay City which was a pretty good drive for us. We had a lot of fun! Park was clean and located across from the lake. There was a splash pad area for the kids which they begged to go to every day! The only bad thing was we had to drive our kayaks across the…

Incredibly beautiful and secluded

We stumbled on this campground accidentally but I am sure happy that we did! What a beautiful place. We were there in the late fall, so I imagine it most likely gets busy in the summer seeing as half the sights have lake access. Although, for a beautiful fall weekend there was wasn’t more than 3…

Terrible Excuse for a “Resort”

They charge per person, so I paid $75 for my boyfriend and I to tent camp on the river for the 2 night minimum required. They are money grubbers who charge per person then put multiple parties on one site. Firewood available on site is soaking wet so had a lot of issues getting a fire started.…

Bay City State Park Campground

This is a really nice campground with newer bathrooms. I saw two cabins. The campground is not right on the lake. You have to cross the road to get to the state park with a great beach and a small, two mile trail. The campsites are right next to each other but there were a lot of mature trees.…

Large State Park on a beautiful inland lake.

This is one of our families favorite places to camp. Higgins lake is beautiful. The water is less than waist deep for about 100 yards out and then drops off to about 90' deep. The water color is amazing when the sun is out. There is a massive boat launch in a protected lagoon. The campground has…

Nice campground

Was a decent place to camp- lots are very close though! Luckily in the fall it wasn’t very busy. Nice little lake on property. Fire pits in odd spot near the road. No pets allowed-not even a cat that stays inside in your camper! Also- there is a $7 a day fee for out of the county. Even when you…

Great Lake!

Very nice camp with an awesome lake and great swimming area! Kids love this park! Sometimes it gets busy. The shop has snacks and ice cream.

Great peaceful spot on a quiet lake

This is a rustic state forest campground with only 8 non-reservable sites. The sites have decent distance between them and vary from tucked into the trees (away from the lake) or more open (near the lake). Several sites have views of the lake, and a couple have direct access to it down small paths.…

Large shady sites

The restrooms and showers were very clean, smelled of bleach. The nature trail around the lagoon is a birder's dream. We saw white egrets blue heron, sand pipers and their babies. There is a long paved bike path we had a dear pass within 6 feet of us and enjoyed hiking out to the watch towers. …

Kid and Pet Friendly with technology hip owners.

W.O.W. This is the CLEANEST campground I have ever been to. Seriously not 1 cigarette but or candy wrapper on my site when I arrived. Picnic tables are freshly washed. Sites around#40 are spacious and shaded all day which was awesome. No mats allowed but it was great as the grass is green and lush.…

  • Heated pool that is cleaned 3 times a day.
  • Cute signs throughout the park that make you feel welcome.
  • Huge sign just a few feet off the road so you can't miss it.

Great location!

We loved how convenient it was to get on the river right from the campground! We went canoeing and it was a blast! However, they have so many staff that are rolling through the park as security and they seem to be a bit rude. I feel as if they should’ve had more cleaning personal rather than so…
