Beautiful campground on Lake Huron

This campground is a must do. Electric site campground within a short walk to the beach on Lake Huron. One of few campgrounds you can view both sunrise over Lake Huron and sunset from the beach. Showers and flush toilets. Great biking and hiking trails. Really nice day use area with pavilion. Mini…

Relaxing getaway

Lovely campground with a diversity of sites including some amongst some super-tall pines and others right on the shore of Black Lake.

Spent a nice week here over Memorial Day Weekend.  the first few days were quite crowded with people gathering for the holiday but come monday dearly everyone was…

Classic family fun.

My family has been coming to Cheboygan/Onaway

MI for as long as I can remember. This campsite is always clean, comfortable and fun. It is perfect for a getaway right on the water in a beautiful park. Especially in the fall this park is beautiful!! I will always come back to this park. I hold it…

Quiet Gem

This campground was quiet and peaceful. The owners are some of the sweetest I’ve ever met and they keep the campground clean and kept up. There is a small area for swimming and a bathroom house on the property. Loved staying here. Lots of trails nearby.

Fun Rustic Cabins!

We have been going yearly to the cabins in Cheboygan State Park for many years and have stayed at each cabin they offer.  All of them are great, vault toilet and hand pump for water, drive up (although the road in can be a little rough).  Some have better beach access then others, 2 of them have…

Long dirt road to swimming beach

Camping is here pretty good overall. I have stayed in Teepee #9 twice now. The first time was very comfy, but the second time we had a lot of rain, and things inside the teepee got pretty wet. We tried to cover things with ponchos and that helped, but I could feel the rain bouncing from the wooden…

As far east as you can go on the UP, without getting on a ferry

We arrived at this very remote campground on the Thursday before Labor Day weekend and stayed through Tuesday. The road into the campground is full of large potholes, and twist and turns, thus it is not easy for vehicles longer than 25 feet to make the tight corners. It wasn’t full, though close to…

  • Tucked away from all other sites, with lots of privacy and just enough sun for our panel.
  • Gorgeous beach on Lake Huron, just a couple hundred yards from the campground.
  • Had to hike to this beach for the sunset, but it was worth it.

A Paddler's Dream Camp

Sometimes you spend a long time getting somewhere and you think,“Why haven’t I ever come here before now?” I grew up in Michigan and had no idea that Drummond Island even existed, let alone had ever come close to it. Now, that I know it’s there, I plan to return, again and again. The campground run…

Best camp ground (technically) in Michigan

Love this place! Can’t say enough about the views!!! Love the hiking trail and space at each site. Stayed at 26 which is in the back and has an amazingly area with incredible view. 20 looks like it would be a good one too. Pit toilets, water stations and a grilling area. Amazing for $15 a night on…

Charming older campground

With incredibly friendly owners / hosts. Dated bathhouse is very clean. Sites are narrow but the great hosts and location make it a hr eat stay.

Nice SP on Northern Lake Huron

We stayed 8-3 to 8-7, only issue was the weather. Didn’t rain, but was hit with a cold front 😳. This was a great SP, no issues fitting our 36’ TT with 2 slides in our pull through site. We were nestled in the back of the park. Electrical box did have both 30 and 60 amp service. Our site was gravel…

Nice old growth campground

We enjoyed our stay at this State Park. There’s lots of trees on each of the sites, it’s about a 50/50 split on the level vs not so level sites. They are average in size with a few really big ones. The park is one of the oldest State Parks so the bathroom facilities are dated but very clean with…

Private, spacious, with amazing beach. Just beware the sumac

Drive-in first-come first-serve camping through the Department of Natural Resources, this was my favorite place in Michigan's upper peninsula so far to tent camp. It offers a variety of twenty or so spacious sites for different camping needs - groups, RVs, or private. Multiple paths through the…
