Great place to relax

Great host A+++

Flys were out as normal but still very enjoyable place,

  • lake superior clam no rocks for the hound's
  • the ladder strairways to the beach are not the best design

Excellent new campground

Open, level gravel sites and some concrete pads scattered throughout this pretty new campground. A few baby trees in the open meadow are trying to get started, but other than those there is no shade. We stayed in a full hook up 50 amp site, and experienced no power issues despite 2 days of…

Beautiful, quiet, secluded

The road that the GPS told us to go down was closed but if you follow the sign posts they'll take you the right way. The sites offer privacy and beautiful lakeside views under canopies of trees. The toilets are minimalist but fine. The ambience is amazing. We fell asleep to the sound of Loons over…

Chill spot

We decided to stay 5 days here after our original plan fell through. It’s a smaller secluded campground with larger sites. We arrived in the middle of the week so there were a variety of sites available. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Be prepared to bring enough firewood and supplies…

Tahquamenon Falls Lower

Tight camping at the campground. Good restroom and showers. The lower falls are great place to swim. The upper falls and brewery are magic.

Peaceful Campground near Tequhamenon Falls

This is a great place to camp for a night or two if you are looking to do some peaceful fishing or explore the whitefish point area. There are no facilities at this campground and only a pump well for water. The closest town is Paradise which is very limited and only has a small general store.…

Beautiful area

This campground has 18 sites, lots of little walking paths, as well as hiking trails that lead you to other nearby lakes that don't have access for vehicles. Those other lakes also allow for hike in camping for a more remote setting, even though this campground is fairly remote itself. There is a…

UP greatness

We always go after Labor Day for less bugs. The weather is always perfect and camping right on the river is great. We’ve been multiple times and will definitely go back

Breathtaking Fall Camping

We were there late in the season and had a lovely, quiet campsite near the River where we fished for our dinner and later built a romantic campfire.

One of my absolute favorite places in the UP!

My husband and I have been coming here for years and it has to be one of my favorite places in the upper peninsula. The views are spectacular and the area is peaceful. The campground does tend to get crowded in the summer but it’s worth it. We love spending time on the beach collecting rocks. The…

Great week

July of 2020, my wife, bulldog (Winston Churchill), and myself set up our base camp at Northern Outfitters. We chose this campground because it was a central location in the UP and we wanted to see everything. We are healthcare workers and truly needed a break, this was exactly what we needed.…

Amazing Spot Right on Lake Superior

Rustic campground far away from it all. At least 11 miles of corrugated dirt road to get to the campground from either way. Very slow going with a camper. All sites are first come first served so get there early if you want a spot. We got lucky and grabbed one of the last sites available and we…

Lovely and Isolated in the Fall

I went in mid-late November so water and restrooms were closed off by then. I was the only camper there but it was lovely. You can hear the lake waves and you’re steps from the trail to the lighthouse. The grounds are well kept and trash is still picked up intermittently.
