## Overview

Holiday Campground is a waterfront facility on the western shore of West Point Lake, which spans parts of Alabama and Georgia.   
  
This man-made lake has 525 miles of shoreline that provide excellent opportunities for fishing, camping, boating and other recreational activities.

## Recreation

Whether sailing or power boating, West Point Lake is a boater's paradise. There are boat ramps in 34 public recreation areas around the lake, including Amity, as well as two privately owned full-service marinas. Fishing is one of the most popular activities on the lake. A dozen creeks and more than 40 square miles of lake provide plenty of good fishing spots for the thousands of anglers who fish here regularly. The lake abounds with bass, catfish, crappie and bream. Bank fishing is excellent at many locations, including public fishing piers at Hardley Creek, Rocky Point and McGee Bridge parks. Several trails wind along the lake and through the landscape, including the Lakeside Trail, which is perfect for mountain biking. A wildlife management area of nearly 10,000 acres, located at the upper end of the lake, provides habitat for many types of wildlife. This area offers excellent hunting opportunities.

## Facilities

Holiday Campground is a large facility with 112 campsites and two group camping areas, including electric, non-electric, tent-only and group sites. Basketball and tennis courts and a playground provide additional recreation opportunities for guests.

## Natural Features

Surrounded by rolling fields and deep forests that display outstanding fall foliage, West Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line. The campground is located on a forested peninsula and overlooks the 25,900-acre lake. 

## Nearby Attractions

The lake offers 21 day-use parks. While many people visit the lake to boat and camp, the parks offer a variety of other recreation facilities including tennis courts, ball fields, basketball courts, fishing piers with fish attractors, hiking trails and picnic shelters for individuals or large groups.

Chattahoochee Old Town Campground, formerly named Brush Creek Campground, is a wonderfully scenic setting in which to spend a month or two camping and fishing along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. This campground is pet friendly and offers 35 waterfront sites for tents and RVs, with 35-foot back-in drives. Take your pick of shaded or full-sun sites with or without electric and water hookups. This campground is home to a pair of bald eagles which raise young there each year. The grounds are also the location of historic Indian mounds and the Lower Creek Trading Path, a Native American trade route dating back thousands of years. Take a stroll along the park’s five-mile nature trail and pass by Civil War era graves and Native American relics.

We are a former dairy cow farm 1.3 miles off of I-85 and offer a secluded, lovely camping spot under the pecan trees or viewing the pond from the pine trees. We are a small u-pick strawberry/blueberry farm during the months of April-May. 

We can accommodate self contained campers/RVs only. We provide power and water for both campsites. A full service truck stop with dump station, grocery store and several fast food and sit down restaurants are 1/3 miles away. We are 40 minutes from Callaway Gardens and the Atlanta airport.

A landmark in Carroll County, the John Tanner Park has an annual attendance of 100,000 visitors. A landmark in Carroll County, the 138-acre John Tanner Park boasts a large sand beach, camping, hiking, fishing, putt-putt golf, paddle boats, a group lodge, motel units, pavilions, and a large picnic area.

Free and paved, at just over 61 miles long, the Silver Comet trail is built on abandoned rail lines. The path winds through residential areas and forests alike, where you’ll find everything from tunnels to trestles, bike rental shops to wheelchair access points. West Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River, just north of West Point, Georgia. The lake has a shoreline of more than 500 miles. Surrounded by forests and fields on the Alabama-Georgia state line, West Point Lake provides excellent fishing, camping, and other recreational opportunities. The Amity Campground offers 96 sites, 93 with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include a dump station, laundry facilities, hot showers, a boat ramp, basketball and tennis court, a playground, and trails. Open spring through fall from Thursday through Sunday, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Campground gates open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 3 p.m. There is a 14-day maximum stay.

Amity Campground

Holiday Campground is a 319-acre wooded lake-view peninsula offering 163 sites for tents and RVs. This pet-friendly campground provides shaded and full-sun waterfront lots, electric and water hookups, primitive lots, group camping for up to 80 persons, single and double sites, and paved back-in and pull-through drives from 25 to 78 feet. Open spring through fall. Campground gates open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 3 p.m. There is a 14-day maximum stay.

R. Shaefer Heard Campground is a wooded lake-view site near West Point Dam. This pet-friendly campground provides 117 campsites for tents and RVs with water and electric hookups, and includes handicap sites, single and double sites, waterfront sites, and paved back-in and pull-through drives from 25 to 107 feet. Each site permits up to eight campers and four vehicles. The campground is located within R. Shaefer Heard Park, which includes additional amenities, such as a tennis court, multi-use ball field, hiking and mountain biking trails, boat ramps, docks, pavilions, playgrounds, amphitheater, and visitor center.
