Bluff Creek Campground is situated on the shores of Walter F. George Lake on the Georgia and Alabama border. The lake is a great place to get away for a week, a weekend or just an afternoon.   
  
Boating, swimming, fishing and camping are popular activities.

## Recreation

The Chattahoochie River lakes are an angler's paradise, where largemouth bass, white bass, hybrids, crappie, channel catfish and bream are found. The lake's 640 miles of shoreline offer many excellent locations for bank fishing, and a boat ramp is conveniently located nearby.   
  
The lake and its surrounding forests provide a great locale for hiking, hunting or simply observing wildlife.

## Facilities

The campground offers 77 sites with electric and water hookups. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, a dump station and fish cleaning station. A group picnic shelter is available on a first come, first served basis.

## Natural Features

Walter F. George Lake, sometimes called Lake Eufaula, stretches 85 miles up the Chattahoochee River. Visitors come to relax and play among the natural beauty of the area.   
  
The lands surrounding the lake are forested with dense stands of mixed hardwoods. A wide variety of wildlife is commonly seen, including waterfowl, deer, squirrels, rabbits, eagles, hawks, bobcats and dozens of species of songbirds. 

## Nearby Attractions

The historic towns of Eufaula, Alabama and Cuthbert, Georgia are nearby. Eufaula boasts more than 20 structures and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Beautiful antebellum mansions are located throughout both towns.

Come pitch your tent just outside of our animal pasture with zebu cows, sheep, 5 baby goats and adults and lots of chickens. We have several sites to choose from. We are a working homestead. We are a campground in-process of being built over 100 acres, however 80 acres were just cleared but still have 10-15 acres that are wooded and ready for camping with fire pits, picnic tables and access to visit the farm animals during hours of 10am-4pm. Animal snack paks will be given to each guest at check in.

The Chattahoochee Fall Line WMA was created through a partnership between the DNR, The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Army at Fort Benning. Through the Army Compatible Use Buffer program, ecologically significant land near the military installation’s border is protected from development that is incompatible with the installation’s national security mission.

Collectively, these areas form a landscape of priority habitats that have enormous potential for ecological restoration, including expansion of a fire-managed longleaf pine ecosystem beneficial to the red-cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise and other imperiled species. Individually, they provide for more public recreation lands for such activities as hunting, hiking, fishing, camping, and wildlife viewing.

Almo Tract WMA

Known as “Little Georgia”, Providence Canyon is a modern-day example of what happens when mankind attempts to change the land they live on. Thanks to years of poor agricultural practices, as well as erosion from the Coastal Plains, massive gullies as deep as 150 feet can be found all throughout the park. While this lack of foresight has irrevocably changed the land, it has also created some of the most beautiful photo opportunities in the State.

As a result of the geographic changes, the canyon’s soil proudly showcase its scars, colored in vibrant hues of pink, orange, red, yellow, and purple. This makes the area a prime destination spot for Photographers and scenic enthusiasts. Moreover, the area is home to the Plumleaf Azalea, a rare type of wildflower that blooms in late July/early August, when most other Azaleas have already started to wain in vibrance. 

When it comes to recreation, there’s a wide range of outdoor activities to partake in. Thanks to the local geography, Providence Canyon is perfect for hiking, fishing, mountain biking, climbing, and so much more. One of the more interesting activities to consider is the Canyon Climber Club. This club challenges participants to brave three local features that showcase extreme outdoor adventure. Brave the depths of the Canyon, overcome the staircase of Cloudland Canyon, and trek across the swinging bridge of Tallulah Gorge. Those who complete all three challenges win extreme bragging rights, plus a sweet certificate to show off. 

Camping here is difficult, simply because there aren't many sites available. There are 3 pioneer-style campsites with regular amenities, and 6 backcountry campsites which require you to be okay with a little less comfort. While there is a visitors center, a concession stand, and restrooms available, not every campsite is close by. Therefore, it’s important to be sure you plan your trip in advance to meet your needs and circumstances. Pioneer campsites (close to bathrooms and the visitor center) range from $40-$80 a night, while the backcountry options start at just $10/night.

Enjoy multiple waterfalls, trout streams, and gnarled trees, all in an old-growth forest. There’s also access to several trails – the perfect home base to get some serious day hiking done.

Free and paved, at just over 61 miles long, the Silver Comet trail is built on abandoned rail lines. The path winds through residential areas and forests alike, where you’ll find everything from tunnels to trestles, bike rental shops to wheelchair access points. King's Pond, located near Harmony Church, is the only area on the installation where primitive camping is permitted free of charge. Reservations are not required, except when MWR events are scheduled.

You'll find charcoal grills, fire pits, a playground, restrooms, primitive camping sites, 3 fishing piers and a boat launch onsite. The pond is a favorite fishing spot, with plenty of bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie and sunfish. No combustion-type motors are permitted, except to unload and trailer your boat.

Watch for bald eagles, great blue herons, red-cockaded woodpeckers, cormorants, gators, turtles, geese, and more. This park is the site of one of our most popular activities — the King's Pond Campout — scheduled regularly during warm weather. The events often include music, games, boating and stories around the campfire. There is a pavilion with picnic seating for up to 32 people. A large charcoal grill, a playground and restrooms are located nearby.

Nice "yard" area for the RV. Many great spaces for tent camping, campfires and hiking. Pets are welcome.

Near FD Roosevelt State Park (15 min drive) and Callaway Gardens (20 minute drive).

There is an additional RV hookup available but it will not be occupied unless both sites are rented as a bundle.

Full hookups (city water, 50/30 amp electric, septic) on dirt/gravel driveway that can accommodate 40+ foot diesel pusher or smaller rigs. The site is beside a vacant stone house with well kept yard and 18 acres of natural wooded property. Easily accessible on a paved road. Covered parking for your tow vehicle. There are 2 sites available. The 2nd site is available only as an add-on to rental of this site. 20 minutes from Pine Mountain GA and Callaway Gardens, 30 minutes from Columbus, GA, 15 minutes from FDR State Park, 15 Minutes from Warm Springs, GA and the Little White House, close to Flint River.
