Convienient, clean, and quiet

We stayed here in June and wanted to go climbing. They have an envelop/cash payment system so make sure you have cash. Super clean bathrooms, hot showers, and a tub basin to wash dishes. There is a community area with a playground and picnic tables as well. Our campsite had a fire ring, a grill,…

Back again, 3rd time.

We came for the memorial day weekend and the week afterwards. The park was full but also still peaceful and quiet in the primitive camping area.

Nice weekend trip

I took my 6 and 8 year old girls, tent camped 2 nights. We had a great trip. This is a great place for kids to hike/climb/ explore. My kids are accustomed to 6+ hrs in the heat everyday, so it wasn’t an issue. Nice and cool/breezy at night this time of year. The park has a close bathhouse with…

Simple, clean, convenient

Lots of open space, trees, by a river. Clean bath house with hot showers. Right on Chief Ladiga Rail trail about 6 miles west of AL/GA border. We road east, will come back to ride west segment. Dark at night for star gazing. Friendly folks.

Top of Alabama

Cheaha is great for year round camping. Some of the states best hiking trails. Best time to hike is Winter (IMO) when the leaves are mostly gone and you have great views all around. Also trails for mtn. biking. Campgrounds are in great shape with clean bath houses. I’ve camped at both lower and…

Awesome State Park and Campground

There is so much to do and see here at the park.  For your stay, there is camping, cabins, chalets, and a lodge for accommodations.  There is mountain biking and hiking trails, along with a lake to swim, fish and paddle in; and a pool if you are a overnight visitor.  There is a camp store onsite…

Friendliest Folk’s Ever

Navy is a small park with rolling hills, wooded sites and lots of shade. We’ve stayed at site 11 and 12, both accommodated our 28 ft camper well. They have a small sandy beach and beautiful Allatoona lake all around. Best feature though is the wonderful staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.…

Great Campground with Lots of Nature and Things to do

On our trip to Cheaha State Park we stayed in the lower campground, which features very roomy RV sites, some with really nice views, and all with full hookups including power, water, and sewer.  There is no cable or wifi available however, and cell service is pretty spotty.  There is also an upper…

It’s a campground with hiking trails

Not much to do but hike. You can kayak the Chattahoochee river if you are brave enough to deal with the pollution. Other than that, it’s a good place to relax if everyone doesn’t bring their massive barking dogs along. We found it very hard to enjoy all 3 times we went because of the dogs barking…

Small with water access

This site is another of the small backcountry sites along the river between Cheaha Falls and Lake Chinnabee. Make sure to check out my review of Cheaha Falls Campground where I discuss the entire loop and the best times of year to visit. Although this campground isn’t as nice as others in the area…
