Beautiful Altamaha river

We love this campground, quiet and secluded on the bank of the altamaha river, perfect for a quick weekend getaway

Clean, simple - great swamp scenery

Loved seeing the cypress trees in the water and the Spanish moss.

A few campers had kayaks with them and it looked like a great place to paddle and explore - but it did have gator warnings, so not sure what precautions one needs to take.

The campgrounds were super clean, including a modern…

Great Weekend Getaway

Booked a site last minute for this weekend. The grounds were super clean. The whole weekend was so peaceful! My dogs absolutely loved the dog park! They are so tired now that we are back home, they just laying around sleeping.

Nice and clean

Nice clean campground. Clean bath house and large sites. All sites are full hookup and pull through. Has a game room with ping pong, foseball, pool table and carpet ball. Outside there’s shuffleboard, Cornhole and horseshoes. They have a nice playground for kids. Has a pond with swimming area and…

Great Primitive sites!

My son and I went to the primitive sites and had a blast. The sites are really spread out and really clean. We were able to find plenty of firewood and used the fire rind and stand to cook our dinner. Would definitely go here again.

Quiet and spacious

Spent the afternoon here to hike and relax. The camp/RV sites are nice and spaced out. The bathrooms were sparkling! There’s a dump station as well as laundry and showers. I had 1-2 bars with Verizon LTE so I received texts but couldn’t really get online if needed.

I hiked a trail loop to the…

Serene and well spaced. Spotless comfort rooms. Clear

Arrived here for a three-night tent stay after Black Rock Mountain. You have to drive all the way in to reach the camp's office. At six, they were already closed, so had to check in the morning after. The comfort rooms appear brand new on the second week of October 2020. They were centrally located…

Nice spot

If you keep left instead of going towards the rv campground, there is a free primitive camping area that has multiple spots for camping. There was one other person camping while I stayed here. It is not a large area and privacy could be an issue if there were a lot of people camping. There was also…

Great little place to stop.

Couldn’t ask for a better stop. Full hook ups, easy checkin, super friendly staff, & warm cookies at checkin. There’s a ton of stuff for kids to do paddle boat, swimming, water slide, park, dog run, fishing. Possibly best of all WiFi that doesn’t suck. Remote work is totally doable at this…

Small quite very clean campground! Super nice bathhouse. 4 miles of walking trail from the campground. Awesome kayaking among the cypress (3-kayaking trails). Will be back!!

Great but things to know beforehand

We booked for a primitive camp site. The lady on the phone told us it was a 3/4 mi walk. We didn’t mind until it got hot (high 80’s-mid 90’s) on our second trip, a park ranger told us we could drive up to the site. (I only back up this suggestion if you have a 4WD) Of course after walking all that…

Cypress Lake Tranquility

We stayed on site 22 and loved it.  Beautiful and quiet with direct access to the lake.  A new bathhouse since we were there about 2 years ago. Very well maintained.  Grass was cut and the park was clean with the sites well maintained.  We had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed our site so much we…
