While we are new to Dyrt, we've been active on other camping sites for a while with great reviews and many happy campers.

We're not an RV park, but rather a family farm with only 4 full RV hookups sites, beautiful views, and lots of wide open space. Forget being packed into tiny spaces when you're here.

Our beautiful unique property has been in the family for 3 generations. Over the years, our circle of friends, family, plus artists, musicians, and writers have come here to refresh and work on projects. But with Hipcamp, we've opened up for others to enjoy.

We have a pond where you can kayak or sit on the dock and relax. On our property, there are swings, tree loft and obstacle course, fire pit area, wooden bridges, picnic tables, abundant bird life, and walking trails. There's also plenty of wide-open space where you can play frisbee, run, do yoga, and stargaze at night.

There's plenty to do in this area, using the farm as your base. Claxton, our hometown, is a great friendly, small-town with grocery and hardware stores and restaurants. Many guests like to side-trip over to the towns of Statesboro, Metter, Vidalia, and Savannah, plus the Golden Isles.



Bliss Hills Farm

Sometimes you just want to pack a bag and head out to somewhere peaceful with out having to pack all your camping gear. This is that place! Just bring clothes and food. Everything else you need for a luxurious truly relaxing weekend is here. This 14x20ft wall tent has a real queen size bed with a 12 inch memory foam mattress by Greentea, sofa bed with a twin size pull out trundle & a convertible futon.  All cooking and eating utensils are included.This site is situated closest to the outhouse and outdoor shower while still feeling secluded. We are a very relaxed easy going 15 acre off grid farm located about 1hr from everything great in the lowcountry. Spend your days visiting Savannah, Charleston or Hilton Head then come back to the country side to unwind.

Ani, Fitch and I are at least partially typical people who are running an experiment. We are trying to find out if you can use your hands and head to handcraft a little piece of heaven. Three years ago we left our South Florida home and custom furniture business to pursue a new goal. We wanted to do something special, something different and interesting with our lives. Have we done that? You be the judge.

We set out to design and hand build an experience in environmentally friendly living that balances modern and old-world homestead features.

You will see us erecting micro-cabins, installing solar arrays, dry toilets and composting. We are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever possible. But also in being reasonable and balanced. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipality utilities as they fit our homestead design.

Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" bio-compatible, small living can feel. How freeing it can be to identify real wants and needs from perceived ones, and then make our personal ideals a reality. We hope to accomplish at least that. We certainly are working hard to do so.

To be completely transparent, though, we also would like to inspire others to do the same, in their own case. We all have priorities and they vary vastly…and that's okay. But never should they be so self-focused that we shut out the importance of being good to the earth and good to others.

It is a challenge to shut out some of the world's noise and figure out what we each really need and what we really want from life, versus what we have been trained to. Even if we can, it is even more difficult to muster the courage to make the changes necessary to go and get that life.

At the very least we hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to living or to nature here, and that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. All of that while having a relaxing getaway in our unique hideaway.



Heirloom Hamlet

With natural beauty, lakeside camping and cozy cottages, this secluded park is the perfect south Georgia retreat. It is best known for the refurbished Parrish Mill and Pond, a combination gristmill, saw mill, covered bridge and dam built in 1880. A group shelter near the bridge is popular for family reunions and parties. Some campsites sit right on the waters edge, while cottages with gas fireplaces and screened porches are nestled into the woods. The parks mill pond beckons anglers and paddlers to explore thick stands of cypress and tupelo trees draped with Spanish moss. Canoeists and kayakers can join the Park Paddlers Club. While on the water, nature enthusiasts can look for beaver dams, blue heron, white ibis and other wading birds. The park rents boats, and nearby outfitters offer guided paddle trips. Hikers can stretch their legs on seven miles of trails while searching for gopher tortoises, Georgia's state reptile.
