Awesome little campground. Spots were decently spaced. There was a lot of changes going on. The map online wasn’t exactly correct. Spot 45 showed primitive camping behind it but actually had lake access!
This park has so many positives...clean gravel wooded sites, numerous lakefront sites, new bathhouses, and spacious. Made the mistake of booking a premium full hookup, which was perfect except the lakefront sites (water/electric) would have been exquisite. On my "I will return" list.
My friends and I loved our stay at pioneer campground #1. It's right off of Big Cloud Creek and old Bridge ruines, providing a nice private and relaxing atmosphere that gives you a glimpse into the past. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby as well a swimming holes and the main covered bridge.…

This is such an amazing campground. The lake is amazing. The views are amazing. Would love to spend more time there.

Our lakefront site #72 was gorgeous, but a VERY tight fit for our 36' pull behind and crew cab truck. Narrow roads made navigating VERY difficult for all. Probably won't come back because of I85 and narrow roads & tight spaces within the campground. Water crystal clear and lovely.

Great place. Nice quiet. Close to mountains. Highly recommend
Had a wonderful time at this campground. Easy access to the lake for using our paddle boards.
Nice concrete pads in a former pasture. Not a lot of shade for most sites
While the tropical storm weather cut our trip to AH Stephens Historic Park we still very much enjoyed our visit.
We stayed in 2 sites with the grandparents. #9 & #12
Site 12 was a very nice straight site with the picnic table and fire ring down a few steps off the back of the main pad.…
We really have enjoyed SC state parks but will never come back to this one. We had to move spaces because it was so ridiculously unlevel (other campers shared same experience). The only one we could get literally faced the street and had zero privacy. There is a full hook up area (rare in a state…
We stayed on two sites (8 and 11) as a group for a weekend. There isn’t water access from the site but you can see the water from some sites. Sites were on the smaller side and not particularly level front to back. Bath house was clean but a decent uphill walk away from most sites as there is only…

Still being upgraded, so newish pad was still soft but pretty level. Sewer pipes stick out a good 6 or 8 inches. Electric posts are new but have a meter right below plugs, so surge suppressor gets to hang sideways. All nice and new. Will try again in future as it keeps improving
From Hwy 107 you can access Burells Ford road which is fully gravel and rocky, certain cars may have difficulty. Just follow the gravel road and you’ll find a parking lot on the left that has a backcountry campsite but you have to hike to the site, it’s not a drive in site. If you keep continuing…
This is a nice, clean, conveniently located, well maintained campground. It's near enough to Toccoa for the restaurants and shops and the museum but it's far enough off the track so that there's no traffic noise or other annoyances. I spent over a week here I really enjoyed my stay. And the owners…
Spent another 3 nights at Tugaloo State Park. It is our happy place. Our campsite was extraordinary. Beautiful sunrise each morning and the weather was perfect camping on the lake weather. There is so much to do at this park or just relax watching the boats go by.
