Lake views for all

All most all sites are literally right on the lake. Extremely quite and literally in the middle of nowhere. If you want to rest and relax in solitude, this is you place

Oconee Springs

We recently stayed at Oconee Springs. The campground was very difficult to park in, as the spaces were right on top of each other. There’s not much privacy as you’re right next to the other person (which is fine if you’re camping with friends). The beach area was great! Our kids enjoyed the…

Beautiful Lakeside

This park has so many positives...clean gravel wooded sites, numerous lakefront sites, new bathhouses, and spacious. Made the mistake of booking a premium full hookup, which was perfect except the lakefront sites (water/electric) would have been exquisite. On my "I will return" list.

Lake side

I've stayed at this camp ground 3 times they have lots of sites right on the water many with your very own mini beach an you can bring your boat up to as well. Bathrooms always cleaned by host an super friendly people. The only issue the last time I stayed was there was a main pipe that burst an…

Nice camp site

Site 74 is right between the beach an the boating dock. Very large pull thru. Love how it was super private compared to the many other campgrounds I've been to.. We set up tents and did our glamping camping with ac. Also site was right on the water. Beautiful views. Wish there was more of our own…

Beautiful Get Away

My friends and I loved our stay at pioneer campground #1. It's right off of Big Cloud Creek and old Bridge ruines, providing a nice private and relaxing atmosphere that gives you a glimpse into the past. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby as well a swimming holes and the main covered bridge.…

Post-Apocalyptic Lakeside Camping Experience!

OK, so there were no zombies that we accidentally bumped into, but that said, the whole campground was supposed to have gone through a massive redo that was intended to be completed by May, but by the time our camping experience began (2 full months later), the whole place was still going through…

Lakeside Perfection

If you are looking for a near perfect lakeside camping experience in the low country here in South Carolina, than you may have just found the perfect getaway!  Tucked away from main roads and a solid 20 minute drive from the nearest traces of civilization (McCormick), than Hickory Knob State Park…

  • It's a Barn. I know that, well, because 'The Barn' is written on the side of it. But that's about all I know. There's nothing I found that explained why this barn greets you upon entering the park! Looks like it could be a lot of fun though.

On The Edge of Camping Paradise

This is one of South Carolina's furthest afield campgrounds (any closer to Georgia and you'd be in that state!), so be prepared to find seclusion and a decent dosage of privacy all on the lakefront edge of heaven.  Having never camped in SC before, my family and I checked out a number of…

Quiet and nice clean

While the tropical storm weather cut our trip to AH Stephens Historic Park we still very much enjoyed our visit.

We stayed in 2 sites with the grandparents. #9 & #12

Site 12 was a very nice straight site with the picnic table and fire ring down a few steps off the back of the main pad.…

An out of the way place, few amenities.

This is a good campground for a weekend getaway or fishing trip with friends.  Not so much for a family trip, no swimming beach or playground.  This is a former COE campground, very dated and in need of upgrading.  To give credit, it is being worked on but much needs to be done.  With 31 sites it…

Nice park close to Elberton

We stayed on two sites (8 and 11) as a group for a weekend. There isn’t water access from the site but you can see the water from some sites. Sites were on the smaller side and not particularly level front to back. Bath house was clean but a decent uphill walk away from most sites as there is only…

Nice place, definitely has potential

Still being upgraded, so newish pad was still soft but pretty level. Sewer pipes stick out a good 6 or 8 inches. Electric posts are new but have a meter right below plugs, so surge suppressor gets to hang sideways. All nice and new. Will try again in future as it keeps improving

We just…
