Not what we hoped for

We stayed in the Antioch loop on site 93. The site was super close to 92 and 94. We felt we had no personal space. A couple kept walking through our campsite to get to a boat they had parked at our site. I love rustic but Antioch was not rustic, it was over grown and did not look maintained. We…

Family Fun!

We took our kids for the first time and it was a great trip! I’ve always lived Oak Mountain so I for sure go back as often as I can. We stayed on 42B which was an AMAZING site. My favorite one so far. There was a lot of traffic just because that was the way to get to the campground beach, but it…

Hoover Rv Camp Review

It's mostly for Pull Alongs, 5th Wheelers & RV's, no spots for a Tent trees far away but not too far. On the outskirts of a parking lot of a stadium!

Great Military RV Park

Very Quiet location with level pull thru sites. Showers are clean and laundry on site. Many long term campers on site. Camping is a little pricy at 28 dollars a night but very safe.

The Oak Mountain Review

So I've only camped here in a Tent & RV. There are nice Bathhouses that include Toilets, Urinals, Sinks, Stand-Up Showers & Lights! There is also WiFi and a small beach. And Cabins that are not in the campground area you can camp Primitive campsites, one's with power & water hookups…

Gorgeous but mosquitos gorged on us BRING DEET

Would give 5 stars if not for mosquitos and no-see-ums that came right through our RV screens. Even repellent didn't seem to stop them from biting on one particular evening, but the second day was better. We could see the lake from our site, which had full hook-ups even tho' sewer hook up wasn't…

Beautiful park and very well kept. If you can’t find something to do here you aren’t looking. Mountain Biking, road biking and very well payed out lanes. Tents, cabins, pull thoughts for classA’s. Just a beautiful park!!

Quiet, secluded and FREE!

We stayed overnight on our way north. We are very experienced Wild campers and this site did not disappoint. East to get to and easy to get out. Quiet and secluded. If you like camping, you’ll love this place.

Platform on old building site

This site appears to have a platform that was built to set up a tent on where an old building used to stand. The fireplace is the only part that is still in place which would actually be kind of nice to use on a cold night. There are even metal rings installed on the platform that you could use to…

  • We had to park on the road since I tree was down and blocked our access to the parking lot.

Very relaxing and shadybon Antioch Loop.

This campground has 2 loops.  Catoma which has concrete pads and some shade.  Antioch is gravel pads but very shady!!!!  It's more close to nature!!!  I highly recommend the Antioch Loop!!!

  • Campsite 132 on Antioch Loop. Was a long site and very shady!!!
  • The Bamboo Park wasn't very far away and so unique.

Clean and spacious

The park is quite with widely spaced sites. Most sites are about 90 feet apart. One section has FHU’s. Wooded area so satellite TV will be challenging in summer, but park is close to Montgomery so over-the-air stations are plentiful. Many sites are on the water and can fish from the bank. Park is…

Love this place, but cell coverage spotty

This is always our go-to place to stop at when in the area. Lovely rustic campground divided into two distinct loops, one feels like it’s from the 70’s ( w&e, no sewer) and the newer side that has full hookups for an additional $4 a day. Last time I was using ATT, and coverage was fair. This…

Great Respite

Third time staying at Oak Mountain and it was great. Stayed in B37. A20-27 are better but our trip was short notice. Decent size and pretty quiet. Bathrooms could use some updating but still pretty clean. Great hiking trails and lots of stuff to do!
