Birmingham/Pelham

The staffs rude and wouldn't take my dryt discount dispite the fact that I followed the link from their website! The doggie park is the size of my bathroom and the wifi doesn't work on and we paid 64 dollars for one night and 3 drinks

Not so great

This wasn’t our first visit to Birmingham South RV Park in Pelham, AL but it will almost assuredly be our last! I wish I could give this visit ZERO stars. On a previous visit, the campsite host/manager knocked on our door and asked our son to move his car, despite the fact his car was properly parked on our site and not obstructing the lane. They have no less than 3 sets of speed bumps at the entrance to the park. I dislike speed bumps in a parking lot, and I definitely am not a fan of them in RV parks. Who wants to traverse those in a HD truck with a heavy camper?? If you are concerned about speeding, put up a gate at the entrance. The attached photos of the concrete in disrepair at our site speak for themselves, and the photo of the grass may not look like much, but conceal a dangerous hole I rolled my ankle in. As if that were not enough, we were finishing up breakfast with our son who was visiting locally and at 10:58AM and then again at 11:06 I get a phone call from the park office reminding me check out is at 11AM and asking if I wanted to extend my stay. Look, I get that check out times are there for a reason, but we already were mostly packed up, had all our water lines disconnected and just had the electric connected to keep our dog safe in the heat. It isn’t like this is a hotel room you have to clean and turn over for the next guest. It is a beat-up and(in this case) crumbling piece of pavement. So rude and pushy. Never again…

Traveling through

This place is located with the railroad on one side and the highway on the other. It is out dated. The power station are the worst, the concrete at the camp site we had was so bad if you did not watch where you walked you could twist your ankle. And to pay over $50 per night is out of the question. I would have rather drove an additional 100 miles or park for the night a a Walmart parking lot.

Clean, quiet but dated site

I truly appreciated the staff. They do a wonderful job during check in and it’s clear they attend to the cleanliness of the property. My only negative is that we felt the price was a bit high for off season accommodations & the condition of our site showed general wear and tear. The blacktop on our pull through was very cracked & uneven, the picnic bench was worn and the surrounding area was neither fully grass or fully pebbles. It was a dated site for $51.50 per night & that included a 10% Dyrt Pro discount.

Clean and easy access.

Checked in after hours and was still helped to find a suitable site for my camper. They seem to reserve spaces just for single night stays, which was nice as was pretty full. Staff was helpful and site was clean.

A great stopover place.

We used this campground as a stopover on our way to the beach. They put us in a pull though site which was awesome for being easy to make quiet exit. Never I’m hooked the truck. Campground is close to the grocery store for the last few items before heading south. Has a great laundry and the kids had a blast for a few hours at the pool before it was time to turn in m.

Easy stay!

This was a pit stop for us and it worked just great for that. We had a 50amp pull through site. It was very level and we didn’t even unhook from the truck! We stayed one night, easy to find, close to the interstate, clean. They had no contact check in. The pool was open and they had a nice play area for the kids. Nothing too fancy but great for our overnight stay.

Fabulous stopover

Very clean restrooms & showers! Easy to get in and out of the park from highway. Good Wi-Fi. Nice pool. Nice office. Well organized. We were just passing through area and it was easy to get to and no complaints!

Very nice campground

We were passing through and needed a place to spend the night. They have a very easy after hours method for checking yourself in. The park is neat, quiet and clean. The restrooms were as well. Beautiful setting with lots of nature trees and very close I-65. Would definitely choose to stay again but will plan the trip next time.

Nice park, great location

Only stayed for one night. Passport America discounts are offered. There is a Home Depot a few hundred feet from the entrance. The expressway noise is noticable but we're not bothered by that. The employees were nice and the grounds are well kept.

Update: PA discounts are no longer honored. We now choose to stay at The Hoover Met
