A back door to the Blue Ridge

Super clean grounds at the south edge of the Pisgah. Friendly hosts, and great hiking all around.

If you are feeling adventurous and don’t mind a dirt road, leave the campground and go north, up the hill. Five miles of gorgeous mountain switchbacks along the creek. And just when you think the road doesn’t go anywhere, you turn onto the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The sites are very clean, but the standard and RV sites are not private. If you want some privacy right on the creek bank, get Primitive site 1.

Great Campground

Stayed here for the weekend and Emberglow hosted a 5K. It was a great time. Great family campground. All camping sites are gravel so make sure you have some leveling blocks. They also have yurts and tree houses that look like a blast as well. Definitely will be back.

Great stop if you’re looking for amenities

Stayed for one night, the tent sights were flooded so they put us in an RV spot. The fire pit was clean and ready for use. The bathrooms were spotless, you could eat in there if you’re into that sort of thing. Over all nice places

Very clean bathrooms and showers

Some sites are pretty close together. The sites closer to the lake have more privacy-without direct lake views. Lake is underwhelming-but still nice. Bathroom and showers are cleaned well everyday-and are heated. Book ahead-the guy said they'd been completely full since June.

Hidden Gem

This is a great Campground if you're not looking for a bunch of frou-frou amenities. The road is well maintained but can be very steep in places so make sure you have some tread on your tires. No garbage cans so pack in and pack out. No generators allowed. But clean campsites and plenty of toilets. There's even a primitive hot shower. The people are very friendly both the campers and the people who operate the camp. Wood is available on-site $5 for 10 pieces or you can pack your wood in. I will definitely be back.

Amazing camping/biking

Stayed multiple times, this place rocks! The staff is super cool and laid back. The trail system is awesome. It’s super nice being able to bike straight from your camp and go ride. The out door showers are bad ass as well! Such a cool environment.

Great hiking

State Park with decent bath and shower facilities. Lots of space between sites.

Spaces tend to be a little uneven, especially the pull through spots.

Great hikes or bike rides all over the place.

Beautiful park

This park was just beautiful. The kind of park you can hang out in all day and it feels like you’re on vacation. We loved waking up in the water.

Beautiful

Last minute find when Tropical storm Zeta interfered with our travel plans. EXCELLENT staff. EXCELLENT amenities, clean, unique. The "pent house" sites up top have magnificent views. Well thought out. Several dump stations, propane, some full hookups. Great use of natural elements. Quiet, friendly. Showers, laundry all clean and up to date. You need to unhook if towing a vehicle. Well worth a visit!!!

Great Campground! Clean Restrooms & Showers

We had a quick nights stay in Davidson River Campground after picking up our new SylvanSport GO tent trailer in nearby Brevard, North Carolina. Our campsite was pretty big, clean, level, and close to the restrooms. This camp was really nice and we would definitely come back again. We didn’t have much time to explore as we were busy setting up our new toy. Had one set of noisy campers (though their guitar, fiddle and singing were actually not too bad) they did party past quite hours but someone from the park came and asked them to quiet things down…which they did. Had several nice visits with other campers. Don’t pass this campground by!
