One of my favorite lakes

The Pittsburg campground at Pomme de Terre State Park is awesome. The host was super friendly and helpful. The sites are all gorgeous, especially if you can get one right by the lake. The vault toilets are the cleanest vault toilets I've ever seen. There is a nice little swimming beach up the road…

  • sites are well kept and spacious
  • the lake is beautiful and close by

Water wasn’t much to look at

I’ve camped here a couple of times in the past and it was adequate. The water didn’t look great at all, but maybe that just had to do with the level. There are showers, bathrooms, trails, and even some courts available for tennis, basketball, and volleyball.

Last Minute Camping

We camped overnight here on a bit of a whim and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space some of the sites have between them. Some spots are right on the lake water and some are off in the woods a little bit more, which does somewhat provide a dispersed camping experience, although you…

Lake Camping

This is a good place to camp, but in the main camp area the spots are fairly packed together. However the water is usually never far away. There are two campsites you can choose from, I prefer the one on the bank opposite the marina. The marina has a shop with all the standard stuff. There is also…

Fun Weekend Getaway!

Booked online, pictures were a little deceiving for double campsite. Unless you are a family camping together I would avoid. Park attendant very helpful moved us to site 61. We absolutely loved it. Electric hookup, great site for our pop up. View of the lake and easy access to the boat ramp and…

Spacious sites - pretty views

The weather is not under control of Long Shoal unfortunately. Our plans included some kayaking however the relentless rain and wind did not allow it. That aside I can see the park is well laid out with ample space between sites. Most will accommodate the largest rigs. The only service is…

Quiet

This review should have gone under Berry Bend Campground. If fishing boating of all types is your thing this is it. This. Is a very large campground very well maintained. Showers flush toilets and pit.

Peaceful

Less amenities than other near by State Parks, no playgrounds mainly and the sites aren't too close to the lake. Power only, so be prepared for that if you are looking for hook-ups. Overall, you can't beat Missouri state parks for beauty, cost and availability of trails to hike! Enjoying our stay…

Great weekend

Great campground to stay at. Sites are power only, water and dump separate. Campground has private boat ramp and parking away from public use so things stay secure overnight. Short walk to beach area is nice. Will be back again

Boy Scout Camping

The camp grounds in our are were well maintained. Even on the trail where a tree fell on it was cleared off the trail.

Great campground for fishing and views

My family and I stayed on the very tip of the campground (site 59). The views were great and we even had a private staircase right down to the water. The site was big & level but it was all gravel. There is not a designated swim area so bring your fishing pole and catch crappie from the shore.…

Quiet State Park

We stayed in the Pittsburgh park because it offers water and electric, the rest of the park is electric only. Large spots available, but somewhat crowded in the electric/water sites in the 100s loop. Beautiful Lake Pomme de Terre right here and accessible from multiple places. Deer Everywhere!!
