Description

Lake Perry Campground was established in July, 2024. We are located just outside the main gates of Lake Perry. Lake Perry is a private, gated, lake community that is only accessible by lot owners and their guests. Lake Perry Campground offers 16 full hookup (water, 70 amp electric, and sewer) camping/RV sites that include 8 pull through lots that are 25'wide x 40' long, and 8 back-in lots ranging from 25-30' wide and 30-70' long. Two buddy lots (camper & tent) are available as well. We also have 2 tent lots with 20amp electric and water. We have an ice vending machine on-site 24/7.

Starting fall of 2024, we will strat construction of a 30'x50' covered pavilion with restrooms and showerhouses along with a full bar serving canned beer, craft draft beer, mixed drinks, premium wines, and adult slushy drinks such as the nearly famous Perrywacker (8 liquors). Also available late fall/early winter 2024 is a 400 square foot studio cabin featuring a 12x12 deck, bedroom, full kitchen, full bath, and a kitchette/bar. (Sleeps 4)

We are 5 miles from Mark Twain national Forest, as well as multiple conservation areas with creek access. Several wineries are nearby through scenic backroads. (Charleville, Chaumette, Twin Oaks, Sand Creek). Bring your SXS's for days of backroad riding that spans 4 counties (Perry, Ste Genevieve, Madison, and Bollinger). His Website is a Total Lie

I had a Reservation for a month long stay. I get there and he said that he would have to guide me to the Site. He guided me for sure right into another Camper. It did over $3,000.00 Dollars of Damage to my Camper. I don't know what the Claims Adjuster paid for Damages to the Camper that the Campground Owner guided me into. His sites are not 25-40 feet wide and 35-100 feet long. If the campsites were that big, the owner wouldn't have had to guide me to my site. I'm going to get a Lawyer and Sue the Campground for all of my Damages to my Camper and the Camper the owner guided me into.

SiteI ended up not staying because of Issues.
Month of VisitJuly

Anthony,

I’m sorry you had a bad experience but please allow me to share the facts.

  1. You called and said that you’d be coming a month prior. That is true. I reserved your spot without charging you a deposit.
  2. When you arrived, i did offer to help you get to your site as I do all campers who arrive while I’m on site. This is not done because I ‘have to’, it’s done as a courtesy to ensure you get to the correct lot and maximize your space.
  3. I could tell you lacked confidence pulling the 5th wheel camper with a half ton truck and offered to drive your vehicle and camper to the appropriate lot but you declined. I have a CDL with zero accidents and zero citations in the last 20 plus years. As you were pulling around the back of the campground, you did NOT take the turn wide enough and was traveling way too swiftly. When I realized you were not going to make the turn. I stood in the middle of the road with both hands up yelling for you to stop….but you didn’t. As a result, you hit the rear of a parked camper so hard that it knocked it off its blocks and moved the parked camper more than 8’ (8’3” to be exact) and caused the tongue of the parked trailer to swing around and slam into the camper’s parked motorcycle. Afterwards, I instructed you to back up because your camper was hung up on the camper you had just hit. When you did, you jackknifed your camper and shattered the rear glass in your truck.
  4. The site(s) that I had reserved for you were Lots A AND Lot B. Each lot is in fact 25’ wide and 35’ long. These numbers were clearly stated and explained to you a month prior to your arrival. Since you were staying awhile, I was allowing you to use 2 spaces that totaled 50’ wide x 35’ long. I did NOT charge you extra for what was essentially a double lot. Other lots in the campground are larger with the largest being 60’ wide x 100’ long but they were already reserved.
  5. I did stay with you and helped you get to the sites I had reserved for you. You were extremely frantic during this process. Later, you brought your insurance information and explained that you were leaving because you were used to lots that were 75’ wide or more. (Which is not impossible but highly unlikely but I didn’t dispute the claim.)
  6. In case you were unaware, our campground has cameras and yes, there is footage of this incident. When you retain legal counsel, I advise you have them educate you on the term libel and then reconsider your claims that you made in your review because I have video proof. I would also suggest you delete or edit your review for accuracy because making false claims that result in financial damages to our campground may cost you more than your deductible. (I.e. libel)
  7. There has never been any other accident in the campground since opening in July of 2024. In fact, there has been a camper with a 39’ 5th wheel camper use the very same lot on 3 separate occasions without any issue. Again, I’m sorry you had a bad experience and things didn’t turn out how you would have liked. This is no reason however to embellish your plight and make false accusations. Mistakes happen, we should learn from them and move on.
