Long Branch State Park Campground

Loved the great beach access and lots of boating opportunities. There is a marina for large boats. The campground is great, but on a steep hill. Some spots are harder to get into with a larger rig. Store located in the marina.

Passing through the area, and just needed a place for the night, so we came here. There is a beautiful lake, very spacious campsites. We just have a 30 amp Svc no water or sewer available yet. Apparently they will upgrade the campground next year (2026), and improve campground and resurface the area.

The walk-in campgrounds (it's about a 50 foot walk from the parking lot to each site) at Long Branch are located off in their own little area at the shore of the lake that offers some pretty good isolation. Although we went at a time when the water was still shut off, there are bathrooms and water available via a very short walk from the walk-in sites April 1-Oct 31. The sites are each very spacious with flat areas and material already laid out for pitching a tent and plenty of trees for throwing up a hammock. Although firewood was stated to be available year round from the vending machine, it was locked up when we went through, but there is a convenience store right across the highway from the lake that sells wood bundles and anything else you might need.

We really enjoyed our time here and we'll definitely be coming back in the warmer months to enjoy some swimming and boating.

I reserved a walk in site and it was totally worth it. It’s a very short walk into the site, it’s even visible from the parking lot. The site is right on the water with beach access so there’s no need to drive to the crowded beach area to swim! This site had lots of space and was spread out from neighbors. The campground hosts will deliver firewood to your campsite when bought at their little market. Definitely recommend!

So, at first glance, small corps of engineers lake and stock Missouri state parks campground. But, we came back and there’s some unique stuff. A small trail that winds through tall grass prairie is great for kids and a cool perspective not much found in state. Also, there’s a sweet backpacking loop on a peninsula that is super rare north of the Missouri River. Quiet, and a great stop off hwy 36.

I love this campground! Nicely spaced sites, some in the sun, the bulk are in the trees, which would be lovely in the summer. Beautiful lake. Plenty of sites on the water. Nice playground. Kind host. Fabulous showers! Lots of hot water. Very clean bathhouse. Plenty of trails to explore and roads to ride my bicycle on. $19/ night for basic electric in November. Good wifi.

Multiple spots around the lake with surrounding prairie grasses and trees surrounding. Easy to access bathrooms and nice concrete flat spots for our jeep/RTT combo.

Pulled in about 7:30pm seemed like 10, it was so dark. Lol

Had called about 3 hrs earlier and they were full, except for a family site, thankfully we were traveling with a second trailer.

Pulled up to the office and the sweetest kindest man greeted us. He was expecting us. ❤️

Paid the 40 something dollars and he hoped in his golf cart and lead us to the site.

Morning time revealed the beautiful trees and a glimpse of the lake. Beautiful sunny day with blue sky.

Didn't really get to explore the surroundings since it was just a stop over. But got some good sleep and that's all that matters when getting back on the road early.

Make sure you take the paved road in, because the back road Google takes you on is crap.

We liked this place. Very clean & quiet, but busy. Campground was full during our stay (2 nights). 

Site 6 a modern concrete pad, level, & spacious. Camp hosts were great. 

Beach is very nice. Lots of folks with small fishing boats having fun. 

5 minute drive into town for groceries & gas. Nice area for sure.

Only in for a night but so enjoyed the quiet, beautiful walk, nice beach at the shore of gorgeous lake and along with firewood, ice, and a variety of camping options, there is a very nice bathhouse. The only concern is that the asphalt pads need repair/replacing- steep, broken edges in spots.

We arrived on the Thursday before school started. Our sight had its own path to the lake. We set up site and just relaxed the rest of the night. So peaceful. For the most part, the whole weekend was relaxing, our site was big and flat. Restrooms and showers at the shower house were very clean.

I would have loved to see it site before the floods. I'm sure there was a nice little Beach area at the end of our path.

This campground is very nice and offers lots of options,including two different types of electrical sites, basic sites, and walk-in basic sites, they do also have a number of family sites. They offer s firewood vending machine and ice for sale by the camp host. The marina is very nicely set up for handicapped accessible fishing from the fishing dock. Unfortunately the marina store was not open when we visited. We were too early in the year. The swimming beach looks very nice, although it was too cold to use when we were there. Some of the camping sites are more tent friendly than others. Some of them look like it would only be good if you were in a pop-up or a trailer.

They have a great lake, and quite campground. The lake has a nice beach next to the marina. Marina store has icecream and other small items if you need something. We were there on what staff said was a busy weekend and to us the lake was empty there was so few boats and the beach not even half full. Campground was full and had no issues and great hosts. You can walk right down to lake from several sites.

Nice family friendly camp ground

Great lake. Wonderful swim beach with sand. Campsites are at slants so be prepared to level. Nice hiking trail. Clean shower house. Definitely will stay again.

The beach was very clean, the campsite was well shaded and bathrooms conveniently located throughout. Absolutely beautiful! Lots of ticks though so check yourself often!

Mostly concrete pads, most are pretty level. Lots of wildlife, clean shower housees, great camp hosts, firewood and ice available for purchase. Great lake nearby with beach, marina with small store, picnic area. Walking trails throughout. Macon and Bevier are close by. Very nice place to camp.

Found this little gem as we were traveling through to get back home to Ohio and needed a place to camp. Great campsites with concrete pads, friendly staff and a decent shower house for a state park. The only negative was no water at the campsites, but for what you get for the price, including a nice lake to enjoy, you can’t beat this sweet spot!

Long branch SP located in north central Missouri is a fantastic state park. The campground is well situated on the banks of long branch lake. The walk in sites are 50 feet from the lake and are level. The park has a swimming beach along with boat ramps and as we were told great fishing. The majority of the camp sites have lake views and are far enough from the highway that it is quiet at night. There are several hiking trails, from a prairie hike to a forest hike. The facilities are updated and clean. Talking with the park ranger, this park does fill on up quickly and reservation are recommended.

Long Branch State Park is amazing. It is clean, modern, and all of the amenities of an RV Park. Sounds great if you like to RV or haul a camper, but this park is awesome if you prefer less amenities and like to camp in your tent. For Tent campers there are walk-in campsites that let you pitch your tent right near the beach.

If you have your own boat or prefer a kayak or canoe the lake is big and beautiful. You can even rent kayaks and canoes at the park. They have ice cream and fun for everyone. I interviewed the camp host, Nelma, she had a great one minute video telling all about the park.
