Pine Ridge

Closed for the season

Great Campground

Pros: Free!! Close to Columbia but far enough away for a getaway. Easy to find from the road, even in the dark. Fire pits and picnic tables are there. Vault toilets and running water available. Hiking trailhead at the entrance of the campground. Camping spots are spaced out enough.

Cons: Can hear lawn-mowing and Gun shots from neighboring properties in the early morning. Still not the end of the world. Definitely fills up on the weekends.

I stayed at #3 and it was a very spacious private spot. If you have kids/dogs I recommend spot #4 it has a long strip of playroom for running around without disturbing other spaces. 2 week maximum stay.

Nice place for partiers

Nice place for party atmosphere

Great small city park

Great park. Clean and reasonable

Pine Ridge Dispersed camping at Mark Twain National Forest

There was easy access to the campground. There were designated spots to camp that had a picnic table and camp grill. Didn't like people just sitting in parked cars in the campground. Quite place to camp for the night.

Quiet, easy camping

Nice long weekend in a relatively primitive campsite. Vault toilets were a plus, but no water source that we saw. Access to swimming, fishing, and hiking trails. We were surprised with how many sites were taken up, but there were still quite a few available. Arrive early for a good spot (We stayed in spot 20 which had its own path to the river). Would definitely camp here again.

There isn't much in the 20 miles before you get to the campgrounds, but there is firewood for sale (self-serve) 10-15 minutes before.

Great little hideaway. FCFS

Great little river access. Has a shaded grassy area for camping. No power vault toilets. Be prepared for some neighbors and young visitors through the night.

Camp Bagnell

Nice campground newly renovated and under new ownership. The pool is 12 ft deep, very nice, and clean and the restaurant has great food very social campground on the weekends with live music that can get a little loud so if your looking for a quiet campground this is not the one. The bathrooms could definitely use an upgrade and it would be awesome if they had more than one washer and dryer. But the campground is very quiet and peaceful on week days. Offers full hook up sites 30 and 50 amp as well as tent sites, has a park, bathrooms, laundry, and an activity pavilion. Overall, was a positive camping experience would definitely come back nice view of the waterfront also friendly on your wallet.

Run down

Swim area is a canoe drop in for other companies. Luckily the water was up higher so we were able to use a shallow area. Power boxes were missing covers. Property has potential. Shady area and easy to get to. We had little kids so it didn't work out as well. Large tent camp area.

Peaceful

Stayed 2 nights, blacktop rv site, back in, w table, fire pit, grill on pit as well as seperate on pedestal, covered table for storage  or prep, also picnic table, water faucet, dumpsters, vault toilet.  Stayed in Oct so it was not busy, there were a few tents, hiking trail lots of shade.  Nice country road drive in and out.
