Owl Creek Market and RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

A cheese shop attached to a campground might not be the first thing that comes to mind when planning an overnight stop along I-70, but it's one of the more distinctive features at Owl Creek Market and RV Park in Odessa, Missouri. The market carries a wide range of goods including over 100 varieties of cheese and local wines, and several reviewers mention stopping in even when they arrived after the shop had already closed for the evening. The campground sits directly off the interstate, which means highway noise is a consistent presence, particularly for sites closest to the road.

Sites run close together. Multiple reviewers flag this directly, and one notes that pull-through spaces on the concrete pads in the center of the park have little to no shade. A handful of sites do have tree cover, so requesting one at check-in is worth considering, especially during summer months when heat index readings in this part of Missouri can be extreme. That said, the facilities consistently draw positive feedback. "Clean decent campground with full hookups," notes Bridget U., and the laundry, bathrooms, and showers are mentioned as above average across multiple stays.

Full hookups include 30 and 50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections, with a maximum RV length of 70 feet. The campground also has a pool, a small dog park, a playground, and 24-hour laundry access. Reservations are available but not always required. Caleb P. arrived at 9 pm on a Friday without one and found space without difficulty, though that experience may not hold during peak travel weekends.

The campground is open year-round and runs $34 to $50 per night. It functions primarily as a travel stop rather than a destination in itself, with most guests using it as a base while passing through or exploring the Lewis and Clark corridor. Campers interested in a more natural setting with additional recreation nearby might look at Harmony Lake Farm - Park & Playground about six miles north, or the Kansas City East-Oak Grove KOA to the west for a larger campground operation.

Great place to stay overnight.

This was a great park for us to pull over and get off the freeway overnight we did it on our way to Kansas from MI and from Kansas to MI. The store was very nice and the staff there were friendly and accommodative. The only thing I would recommend is getting some shade in the center of the park where the pull-throughs are on concrete.

We absolutely adored this campground.

We spent about two weeks here around September . It’s well maintained and the staff was so friendly. If we are ever in the area we will definitely stay here again. The market is a great touch.

Nice for overnight

Stayed one night while traveling back to the east coast. It is a decent campground. The bath house was clean and showers were hot. Sites are close together. Mine had shade. There is a small dog park at the top of the hill.

I came late and left early, so didn't get to browse the cheese shop, but it looked nice. I would stay here again.

Bake, broiled, or fried.

We were meeting cousins from Texas to do the Lewis and Clark loop (the campground is an excellent choice for that) this past weekend (August 19-21). The heat index was 120F. No lie. The campground had nothing to do with the ambient heat, but as there are only a couple lots with trees, very little grass, and the spaces are narrow enough to hand your neighbor a stick of butter from your window to theirs, we were all pretty miserable.

On the high side, the laundry and restrooms are above par (and the air conditioning was excellent), they have a lovely pool, and a small but adequate dog run. The cheese shop is very well appointed and included some lovely local wines which was a life saver as it was too hot to cook. Wine is a major food group, right?? The hosts were friendly and the facilities very clean. The park is right on the highway and so if you're looking for white noise...you've got that going for you. 30 amp power, sewer, and adequate water pressure at the site was nice. We were in space #68...I'm not kidding when I say they're narrow.

Not a place to recreate, but definitely a safe and clean space to spend the night enroute to your destination.

Nice campground

Nice campground, we stayed in spot 11. It was closest to the highway, so that might bother people but we barely noticed the cars this weekend. The dog park, kid park, and dumpster are next door, so if you are social you will meet plenty of people in this spot. There is a pool, bathrooms, laundry, and a cute little country store here. It appears they are expanding or at least have recently added camping spots, so that's good, but there are plenty We arrived late at night, 9 pm on a Friday, and there was still room for us without a reservation. There was plenty of room to back in the rig, they also have pull through spots if needed. I'd camp here again for sure.

Nice overnight campground

We were met by Gary as we pulled in. Office was getting ready to close at 7 pm. He took me straight there in his golfcart. Got us checked in and then escorted us to our site. They do have after hours check in process if needed. Sites are very close but each has a grass strip. They have multiple pull through sites. There is a brand new pool...didn't check it out but it looked really nice. Cheese store closed just as we checked in but it looks awesome. Gave this a 4 simply because it is right off I-70 and you hear the road noise but for a one night traveling site it was nice. For an extended camping site...not our style.

Good campground

Clean decent campground with full hookups. They do have quite a few rules and sites are very close together but all in all good place to stay while passing through.

Have laundry facilities, a dog run,  bathrooms and access to dumpster.

Basic but good

This was a good overnight stop. It's not the prettiest spot but we got a spot under the trees. Laundry and bathrooms were clean. The road in camp was rough so drive slow. Staff was nice. Bought some good cheese at the camp store.
