Very relaxing and shadybon Antioch Loop.

This campground has 2 loops.  Catoma which has concrete pads and some shade.  Antioch is gravel pads but very shady!!!!  It's more close to nature!!!  I highly recommend the Antioch Loop!!!

Clean and spacious

The park is quite with widely spaced sites. Most sites are about 90 feet apart. One section has FHU’s. Wooded area so satellite TV will be challenging in summer, but park is close to Montgomery so over-the-air stations are plentiful. Many sites are on the water and can fish from the bank. Park is about 10 miles from Prattville if shopping and restaurants are your thing.

Love this place, but cell coverage spotty

This is always our go-to place to stop at when in the area. Lovely rustic campground divided into two distinct loops, one feels like it’s from the 70’s ( w&e, no sewer) and the newer side that has full hookups for an additional $4 a day. Last time I was using ATT, and coverage was fair. This time I am on Visible with a WeBoost-and struggling to view presentations with any consistency. Be warned if this is a necessity. We love the campground and will be back

Clean, quiet and nice setting

Good, level spots. Well-spaced but not private.

About 50% full on the night we stayed and lots of really nice camping rigs. Saw no tents except ours (roof top tent).

Dollar General near the entrance and only about 20 minutes from Montgomery.

Couple of nice playgrounds for kids to run off energy.

Restrooms/showers were ok. Could use some TLC.

Definitely would stay here again. Not sure I would for a whole week though.

Favorite Secret

This is a great little place to hide away for a few days and just enjoy the outdoors. It is a National Historic Site with preserved/restored sites of historic French and early American forts from the 1700s-early 1800s. There are 39 sites. Most are big-rig friendly. There is room for tents as well. The is one group site. All sites have 50/30/20 power and water. A dump station is located at the entrance to the campground. The bathhouse showers have terrible shower heads, but are functional. There is a boat launch. There are two hiking trails in addition to the large open areas in the park. There are frontier re-enactments at various times of the year. RV fees are $20/night and a discount is available for military and seniors. We enjoy this park often -but keep it a secret just between us.

Nice site with full hookups

Gunter Hill was a nice COE campground. We had site 32 in the Catoma Loop (only loop open - we stayed at the end of January for one night). The sites are level and had full hookups. Our site had a good view of the lake, but I’m not sure you’d have that view once trees and underbrush have full leaves. Only disappointments were we had a strong sewage smell around our site when we first got there - the smell went away so maybe it was just the direction of the wind (the bath house is across the road). And when we walked through our woods behind our site to look at the lake, we were saddened to see tons of trash in the woods - made the pretty view of the lake a lot less appealing. We would stay here again for a one night, but probably not for a long stay.

Peaceful & Beautiful

Gunter Hill is a gem of a campground! Sites are spacious, long, and paved with full hookups. We were on the lake in site 28. The bathrooms & showers are older but adequate. Wished we could have stayed more than one night.

Peaceful.

Beautiful spot for hiding in the dark and peeking at other campers.

Quiet Spot

We stopped here overnight on a cross-country trip. Quiet placed tucked in the woods. Good dog walking paths.

Nice and quiet

Clean and quiet. Great amenities. Get any size rv in the spaces. Tent sights. Very clean bathhouse.
