A real gem

This place is amazing. We had started to lose hope that campgrounds like this still exist, but apparently they do.

It’s gorgeous. It’s clean. It’s peaceful. It’s free! What else could you possibly want.

There are a lot of gators in the river, so swimming is a no go however.

There is no…

FREE and stunningly perfect

Absolutely love this place. Super easy to find, you just go down a red clay road. There’s plenty of sites up close to the pond, fire pits everywhere, picnic tables, clean garbages. The trooper came by in the morning and cleaned the bathrooms and changed the garbages. Overall this place is so clean…

Good tent camping

Free. Found a good spot with a view of the water. Watched the alligators and birds on the water. Was able to easily launch a canoe as there is a boat ramp. Vault toilets were available. Picnic table, fire ring, and grill at each campsite.

Busy campgroup

Site #89, nice level site with shade. The other sites nearby are very close so no a lot of privacy.

Campground was very busy with swimmers, fishermen, boats and jet skis. Not like the state parks I have camped.

This is a great out of the way park.

It is clearly an older park with not much recent love. It is clean but not perfect.

The sites have older hookups but they are functional. The campsites are not level and some of them you have to guess where to put the trailer. We stayed on April 8& 9 (Thursday and Friday) and found it…

No FHU’s here

Nice COE park. Level sites, many on the water. Some sites really wet with standing water in rainy weather. Host was not very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a dry site when the site next door was available, with no one arriving until the next day. It was an over night stop for us.

Seasonal five-star rating!

My seasonal five-star rating is based on being here in the offseason. There is just something about having a campsite right on the water that is so peaceful. However, in the summer, I would imagine the water would be clogged with boats zooming around, and we would not find it so peaceful or…

Beautiful campground with great sites

Stayed December 2019 for a long weekend. The sites are all very nice with fire ring, lantern pole, picnic table, small counter height table, and concrete pad for your camper or tents. Ample additional parking available. Bathrooms were well maintained. We stayed in the Oakwood loop. River Chase loop…

One of the Best

One of my favorite campsites to go to, but not a lot of shade on all the sites next to the water. Fall is such a great time to camp here.

Secret Hideaway

Loved staying here! Takes a minute to get there, have to go down a red dirt road. It’s up next to water that has alligators you can see at night. Free campground, great place to fish, quiet & really pretty! Great place to get away from the world. We stayed in a tent during March. There were…

Lots of lake front sites!!

We tent camped in February 2019 on site 47 right on Lake Eufaula! Bathhouse was clean. Most sites are either on the lake or have a view of the lake. Bring your fishing poles and boats, lots of activity on the water! We want to try sites 49, 50, 51, 60, 61, 92, 122...these are on our list as the…

The spring here is nice. But it is over crowded and trashed.

The spring is beautiful and flows into a little creek... this place has the potential to be a good spot but the staff and the people who visit really need to step up and clean this place. It looks like the staff has abandoned the place. Their was food left all over the ground from the people…

Family Fun Destination

The main attraction in this state park is the spring fed pool. There is a lot of nice grassy areas plus a playground but everyone was in the water. I tried it but found it too cold even though August in Alabama is very hot. Campground seemed a little cramped but acceptable. Bugs became a real issue…
