Planes, Barges, Motor Boats and Paddlers

Our stay at site 82 from 3/12/21-3/14/21 is filled with the sounds of people working and playing. Sites are nicely spaced. During the week, we enjoy watching pilots from the Columbus Air Force Base honing their skills. The barges, more frequent during the day, have the occasional after dark run.…

Great, clean state park

This is one of my family’s favorite parks. Some great waterfront spots available with full hookups, but book early. New online state system used to make reservations and get the spot you want. Clean beach, boat rentals and clean bath houses. This park gets full in the fall with campers and people…

One of our favorites!

My only complaint about lake lurleen is the lack of cell service- but do you need that when camping!? Bathrooms are older, best well kept for public bathrooms. We love the swim area and it’s always clean. They have a few small parks for kids, walking and bike trails, paddle boats, boat ramps, and…

Beautiful

Lake Lurleen is a beautiful, well kept place to camp. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The camp sites are big and well maintained. The only draw back was if you are camped at the bottom and have to do the hill climb in the dark to the rest room.

Decent state park hosted by always friendly staff. Large swim beach with bath house and a few small playgrounds scattered throughout. several pavilions that can be reserved for parties. 4 camping sections with power and water, plus a primitive area. only about half have sewer, and even less have…

Quiet and Relaxing

Two night stay on site 39. Love the large sites that are nicely separated from neighboring sites and overlook the water. Friendly staff and clean bathhouse. Only one bathhouse that is centrally located and is a decent walk from some sites. Only limited, easy hiking available in the park. No WiFi,…

Round 2

After having a great experience at this campground we decided to go back for a second visit with a larger group. This trip was even better than the first and we really love this campground. The people who work at the entrance are always super friendly and the tent only sites are all very large and…

Lakeside campgrounds

The tent sites are very nice and groomed and have a wonderful view of the lake. They have individual water pumps at each site and room for several cars to pull up and park. They were also very friendly and easy going about moving sites and check in/out times. I would highly recommend this site for…
