Cutest little park

I picked this park as a stopover on our way to Georgia based on online pictures. We really loved it. The lake is beautiful and the surroundings make you feel like you’re much deeper in the woods than you are. The sites are a good size but some are quite angled and have a drop off from the pad. The…

Beautiful setting

Right by the river. There is a train track right next to the park. Not too many trains went through at night. Very loud though. Quaint little campground. Very nice lady at the office. Water and electricity only. There is a dump station.

Great River camping

We stayed here and were the only people in the park. We stayed along the River and swam. No sewage, no alcohol...but the owners are super friendly and helpful. It was a great spot to just be in nature.

Convenient Location/Great Staff

We stayed in site 4 as a one night pull through for our class A. We typically don’t unhook our Jeep tow for one night, but so glad we did here! The staff told us about a great restaurant to check out just a few minutes away in the downtown area, Weidmann’s. It was delicious! Apparently it’s the…

Good times!!

Great place, super nice and helpful staff, good times!!! There’s a lot of different offerings that this camp ground provides. Several campsites, full, partial, and primitive. Boat, bike, golf cart and ATV/Dirt Bike/Side by Side accommodations. Shaded level sites with a few that might need a lil…

Very Nice Campground

We stopped here on the way to the coast. It was a very nice campground with a small lake, lots of playground equipment, and hiking trails. Pads were level and shower houses were clean. We really enjoyed our stay on sites #17 & #38 going and returning.

Great campground

Great campground on the river. Sites have slot of room and are level. River sites are hard to get. Very clean.

Campground could use some upgrade

The lake is beautiful. Some of the campsites looked like long term sites with a lot of junk around them. This would be a great place to pull an inter tube with a boat. Looked a little sad. It was quiet though.

A Hidden Gem

Great little lake with a beautiful view. Our Verizon Phone picked up well. Loved the hiking trails around the lake. Well maintained. We stayed on site 31, a pullthrough. Two fire pits and a very large area to play areound the camper. Not a lot of campers in the off season. Will definitely be back…

Free at a Cost

It's a shame we had a less than ideal experience here, because we love a good free spot on the water with amenities. First the good, its FREE! No reservation needed, simply pull up and enjoy. First come, first serve. The site we stayed at was level with a nice gravel pad with a fire pit &…

Full Hook ups for $15

Nice spot for a layover, but not our cup of tea for a multi day visit. The parks is operated by the county. The sites are nice featuring picnic tables and grills. There is not a bath house here so you will need to be self contained. The utility pedestals are fancy and remind me of something that…

Tight Spots Decent Activites

We visited St. Stephens Historical Park in mid Febraury. The other campers there seemed to be monthly tenants. The park appeared to be in need of a little TLC and updating. The campsites are super close together, so don't come here if you want any kind of privacy. There is disc golf and some…

Nice small park, friendly staff and several trails to hike, some not on the

The campground is showing its age a bit, but is still nice and well maintained. We were in site 37 for 5 days, which was right across the road from one of the few street lights. The oneway campground loop is narrow, and a little tight in places for bigger rigs, but not too bad. Most of the sites in…

I grew up camping this park.

It was nice to revisit this park and reminisce. This is a very well maintained park with nice shady campsites. It is definitely one of the best parks in the area. They have bath houses with washers and dryers on site. The campgrounds have their own beach but, the bottom is usually soft and oozy…

Peaceful, spacious clean

First off. WiFi - as I need to connectivity. Miserable on Visible (Verizon) and Cricket (ATT). The WeBoost made it usable. Apart from working on cell, we managed to stream Sling over Visible. Moving on. The hostess is great. The site is quiet, clean. Full hookups so no need to use showers etc.…
