Big fun for the Kids!

We stayed in site 150 (premium pull through) which was closer to the amenities. This is a very walkable campground though. The bulk of the sites were fairly close in my opinion except for the ones in the very back (Mountain View I believe) As with any Jellystone, most of the sites were very…

  • take the time to visit the Page theater! Such a neat little place!

Wonderful location in Shenandoah

More quiet than the Big Meadows area (less people for sure!). Simple campground, with all you need to experience a wonderful time in Shenandoah. In the more northern area of the park, and we found that with a Thursday-Sunday time frame there was so many less people. Bathrooms are simple, and no…

Beautiful views & large spots

Beautiful views. Adjacent to a working farm where cows, sheep, llamas, chickens and roosters can graze next to the campsites.

The grounds were beautifully manicured and incredibly clean.

It also had the largest dog park area of any campground I’ve ever seen.

Very nice pool, friendly staff and…

Our New Homebase

We have lived in northern Virginia for over 30 years and never been to this campground until this month! Very nice campground with friendly staff and friendly campground hosts. Sites are comfortably sized and provide privacy as well as allow socializing. Restrooms are extremely clean and the…

Campground was ok

Campground was fair, nice flat sites, semi wooded. Grass wasnt cut anywhere around our site and camp hosts were not our favorite. Beach was absurdly busy.

Awesome but COLD

We came the first weekend in April and it snowed. Being that you are at the top of the mountain, it gets COLD so be prepared. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time. Sites were great (bear boxes at each site), friendly rangers and wonderful views. I recommend getting a site in advance because the…

I'll go again just for the showers

We tent camped there with 2 other families memorial day weekend. It rained the entire time but we still had a blast.

The best review I can give us of the bathrooms. They're with staying again alone. Locking doors, individual stalls. Hot dog. Best camping showers I've ever had.

Only draw back is…

  • Showers. There's two shower sites.
  • Locking door!!
  • Site 71. 69 is a good buddy site

Third visit, new site

This backcountry area truly is a hidden gem in the DC area. For those just learning to backpack or camp in dispersed or unmaintained areas, this is perfect. The hike in takes about 30-45 minutes from the parking lot that has a portable restroom. Site 2 is up on a hill, which we picked because it…

Lousy site but saved by first-come-first serve flexibility

Huge number of sites situated in an open area with some trees. Our reserved site, E172, was on a sloping, crumbling  asphalt pad and we couldn't get our 17' travel trailer level. We almost left but heard by word of mouth that C loop is first come first served so we ended up in C130 on a relatively…

Beautiful Shenandoah

Beautiful Shenandoah National Park.

We were tent camping with two young kids on site 93. Sites are hit and miss depending on what you’re looking for. Some are larger than others. 93 was fine except no trees to hang hammocks (which the kids were looking forward to) and the space for the tent was…

Great campground!

What a nice park and campground.

Wood is $7 a bundle and they don’t want you collecting. Deer everywhere and the occasional bear.

The meadow is just beautiful. A real nice spot an hour after dark for stars.

Try the 150 yard “hike” to Blackrock (next to the lodge) for an unforgettable…

Great campground Great place

I love Big Meadows on the Sky Line Drive. Really beautiful. Fresh air. Hikes galore. Wonderful night programs. It’s just special being in a National Park. Sites vary but NO hook ups. Pay showers.
