Very nice local campground

This was our "shakedown" trip with our new RV.  We found the campground to be very accommodating: 30A/50A electrical, and clean water.  The lake was just steps away from our site.  We went mid-week, so the campground was not completely filled.  The bath house was clean and had plenty of room.

Very small place

This is a place considered last resurse. Not many sites and most of that is the long time residents lives here. They have few spots fool hook-up

Hidden gem

Extra large and private campsites. One of the campsites has a hammock stand. The group site is huge. The whole park is very clean and spacious.

Time

This campground has been in the family for a very long time which normally is a good thing. It’s quite run down with improvements needed everywhere. The two star rating is directed solely on the owners friendliness as nothing else was to brag about. Time for an update on this property!

Into the woods

Nestled in the middle of NC is this great forest. There were lots of established camping spots. We picked a nice one near a stream. There was a lot of road traffic even late into the night. People were friendly when we saw them but everyone kept their distance.

Disgusting

Zero stars. Extremely loud because it sits on i95 and a busy railroad track. ALOT of drugs within the site. Laundry room smelled so bad we couldn't stand it. And the washer dryers never work. The ones that do work ruined our clothes. Our monthly bill was always screwed up. Then when we asked about…

Uwharrie campground

The State Forest has camping. We used our pop-up with a generator in rustic locations. There are hiking, horse, OHV, dirt bike, ATV, and mountain bike trails.

Water, sewer, electrical hook-ups It's a pretty relaxing spot. Restaurants and downtown Raleigh are within short driving distance. Public bathrooms and showers (cold water) are a 2 minute walk to Horse Complex H6, Barn B Very little tree cover.

Clean, beautiful and river-accessible!

This was a great campground for a great price. There was a path walkable to the river, and each campsite was clean, had plenty of space on level ground to set up camp, a fire pit, and very clean toilet. I would definitely go back!

Nice campground

We only stayed for one night on our way through to Raleigh. Nice campground, the spots are close together but the trees make for a little more privacy. We were inland at an electric spot to charge our portable power source. Showers/bathrooms were nice.

Spacious Sites

This campsite doesn’t seem to be too popular which is fine. The tent sites are some of the better spread out ones that I’ve seen and having cell coverage is immensely appreciated considering you’re basically in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful hikes around the river right next door.

State Park Oasis in the Middle of a Metropolis

It’s not often that you see a state park in the heart of a metropolitan area. Although it’s not in the city limits, you are surrounded by cities. Without the noise of the neighboring international airport, it’s like any other natural area. However, camping in a tent means you will be hearing the…

Truly Primitive Camping in a National Forest

Personally, I would give dispersed camping here four or five stars, but I have to be objective from the point of view of many campers. This is not an RV camping area, at least not the dispersed camping area. You cannot drive up to the campsites. There are no electric, water, or sewer hookups. There…

Zoo land was amazing

I have stayed here twice now and still love this campground. We explored the creek and walking path. The kids loved the jumping pillow.

New spacious campground

This is a new and clean campground. Very nice rangers monitor the campground and are extremely helpful. Each site is large and well spaced out from other campers. Most RV sites are gravel with a fire pit, picnic table and a gravel tent pad beside it. The bathhouse was clean and well maintained.…
